Here is a fairly rare 1986 Zimmer Quicksilver.   They were only made for a few years in the mid 80s.   It is based on a Fiero chassis.

I purchased this car is 2008 from CA and have owned it ever since.

I began restoring the car and got to the point where this is as far as I want to take it.   It is a very nice driver but could be more.

I am going to jump right in and describe the details of this particular car.   I figure if you are looking at Quicksilvers you have a basic knowledge of the car.

Condition of the interior:  I redid the entire interior of the car.   The seats have been completely redone.   It has brand new carpet.   The center console has been recovered and redyed.   It has a new headliner also.   The other trim pieces were redyed to match.  The plastic part of the dash is in good condition but the leather part of the dash is faded and has many scratches on it from sun exposure.   Same with the steering wheel.   The leather is ripped and old/hard.   Door panels were redone also.

Condition of the exterior:   I had this car repainted a little while back.   It looks good but wasn't an extremely expensive paint job.   It has held up well and still looks presentable.   It does have scratches and imperfections in the paint.   This car has been a driver.   I have the Zimmer logos and Quicksilver logos for the body but they aren't installed.   I think a few of the Quicksilver logos are broken in 2 but you may be able to use them.   I believe I have the logo for the glove box also.

The chrome bumpers and trim need to be rechromed.   The chrome is gone in many places and rust is there.   That is one project I never intended to tackle.   I know nothing about chrome or even where to get them redone.   Please look at the pictures.   They will do a much better job of showing the condition than I could describe.   The chrome trim has a lot of pitting.

Mechanics of the car:  The car runs and drives great.   It starts right up immediately every time and idles smoothly.   It has plenty of power and the engine is very strong.   The transmission shifts smoothly but could use the fluid and filter changed.

It leaves no fluids on the ground at all.   The steering is good.   Power steering works great and it handles pretty good for a car of this size.   Car runs cool and has never run hot on me or overheated.   I have done a lot of work to the car and will list it below.

New distributor

New cap and rotor and plugs and plug wires

New valve cover gaskets

New intake manifold gaskets (upper and lower)

All new injector o-rings

New belts

Oil and filter just changed

New fuel pump and strainer

New high pressure fuel lines at tank

New battery

New air filter

New front shocks

New Radiator and Radiator Cap

New radiator and coolant hoses

New Master Cylinder for the brakes and reservoir

I flushed the power steering when I purchased it and it has fresh coolant.   That was done when the radiator and hoses were changed.

Plus many more things.

Here are the items that work and don't work.

Power windows both work fine.

Turn signals. brake lights. headlights work.

Power door locks. power steering. heater. blower. horn. all work.

The items that the car needs:

The front hood shocks and rear trunk shocks need to be replaced.

The headlamps don't go up and down.   I never got around to seeing if it was the module or not.   I think it is b/c both aren't working and when I first purchased the car they did.

The air conditioning doesn't work and hasn't worked since I bought the car.   The belt was off the compressor when I purchased it so I assume it needs a compressor but haven't done anything to verify this.

It could use a muffler down the road.   It isn't very loud but the muffler has a good amount of rust on it.

The tires are in good condition and I have included pictures of them in the auctions.

Please look at all of the pictures below.   I have put up a wide variety of pictures of the car from every possible angle.   A picture is worth 1000 words.   Hopefully they speak for themselves.   If you have any questions please feel free to ask.   I will answer them as soon as possible.   I very much encourage in person inspections whenever possible and will try to make my schedule flexible to accommodate for that.
