Seller's notes: "Typical driver quality car. Left rear window is cracked, some pitting on some of the chrome. Bumpers and most stainless really nice. Car needs nothing to be a great daily driver. I drove it to Austin yesterday in the heat of the day for a lunch appt. About a 75 mile round trip, no overheating runs cool. Hauls butt. Overdrive needs hooked up, have all the pieces. Needs interior all new, needs headliner, I have the material to do it and sunvisors. No heater or defrost. No major problems, car is very respectable, presentable daily driver. Not a show car, but shows very well. Metalflake top. Rest of car appears to be faded orginal Superior Blue. Flathead recently rebuilt, adjustable lifters, 12 volt Power Gen conversion, good radial tires. Dual carbs starts everytime and runs great."

My health forces me to sell this car that I had big plans for.  I always wanted a really good looking 50's Merc with a lopey little flathead.  This car sounds awesome.  Twice pipes and big cam.  Here it is.  This car can be left as is and enjoyed as a daily driver. or taken to the next level.  All the mechanical stuff is done.  Rebuilt flathead with adjustable lifters. rebuilt o/d transmission. new interior. 12v powergen conversion (looks like stock generator) dual carbs and aluminum radiator.  I live in South Texas. and this car does not get hot.  I drove it on about a 75 mile round trip yesterday.  I got hot. but the car did not ever. ( and I got 20 mpg on the trip) I even sat in a drive up window to get a cold drink after the freeway trip from Austin and it never overheated.  It is a very presentable daily driver.  I have the sunvisor and lakes pipes off right now. just to give it a different look.  It is a NICE "traditional mild custom".  Nice pinstriping.  I hate the term "Rat Rod" because there is nothing unsafe or ratty about this car.  It starts runs and drives like it should.  It does not look like Charlie Hutton just painted it.  Depends on what you want.  The next money I will spend on it is AC.  But I live in South Texas.  You could take it to the next level easy.  Material is in the trunk for new headliner and sunvisors.  Needs steering wheel painted and horn ring chromed.  None of the stock gauges are hooked up due to the 12 volt conversion.  I have a 3 gauge cluster under the dash for oil. temp and volts.
I will consider trades.  Nothing that eats. and I'm not crazy about motorcycles.  I do like 50's and 60's Fords. especially with AC.
Nice car. I would drive it anywhere.  Doesn't wander around. goes down the highway real nice.  A 5 speed conversion and air conditioning and a little TLC would make this car a dream.
Bid your pleasure and ask all the questions you want.  I take cash and paypal.  $1000. 00 deposit within 24 hours of purchase.  I will help with your shipping at your expense.  I reserve the right to sell or trade the car at any time and end the auction.  Again. this is not a recent Rad Rides by Troy build.  It is a nice 53 Merc with all the little hiccups you should expect from an old car.  Car is located between San Antonio and Austin.  Clear Texas title in hand.  I can have it looked at by anyone around here you choose.  Let me know if you need references from local shops.

Now that the listing is up. I see two errors I made and ebay won't let me change them.  Car does NOT need new interior. it has a new interior.  Really nice.  It DOES need the headliner. sunvisors and one door arm rest fixed.  All the material to do it is folded in trunk.  Also. car location is NOT Cibolo. Texas.  It is about 10 miles from there out in the county.  Garden Ridge. Texas would be a closer description if you are looking on a map.  Small difference. but just to make it clear.  Thanks.
