1967 Daimler 2.5 liter 4 door Saloon for sale

Current customer rating: current rating for this car(2.15) based on 398 votes
This  is a very rare vehicle. the 2. 5 liter Daimler Saloon was never imported into the United States. what makes this vehicle even more rare is that the 1967 Daimler Saloon's were the last year to use the Daimler V-8. This is a  hemi-head V-8. For further clarification. Daimler was owned by Jaguar in 1967 and the Daimler Saloon is essentially a more luxurious Mark 2 Jaguar body with Daimler drivetrain. These are truly gorgeous cars. I have had this car for several years and had no intention of selling it. but unfortunately. due to health problems I cannot really drive the car. nor am I able to do any work on it. so I am selling my collection of cars. This is a car that likes to be driven. I purchased  the car out of a private collection.  the car had been sitting for at least ten years. I had a three phase plan for a rolling restoration: First phase was to get the car running. then the second phase of my plan. was to get the car running reliably. The third and final phase was to restore the body work/rust removal and repaint the car. I accomplished phase one and two of my plan but will not be able to do any body work. rust removal.          Mechanically I have removed and cleaned the gas tank and gas lines. professionally rebuilt (by Joe Curto) the two S. U. Carbs. replaced all hoses and belts. major tune-up of ignition. timing etc. Car starts and runs very nice. I also replace the front tie-rods. both inner and outer on each side. repacked the front bearings. installed new brake lines. replaced the transmission filter and oil filter. I am including all receipts that I have. As indicated the car starts up immediately and runs well. Iast year for most of the spring and summer I used it as my daily driver.  The Interior is all original. the dash. sides and instrument panel are all walnut. they are in very good condition. there are two small chips on the top dash by the defroster vent. the leather is original it is dry and has cracks. I have been treating it with Zymol to make it more supple(which is working). There is a tear in the rear top of the passenger's seat. Carpeting is original and in good condition. there are tears on the driver's side door area. headliner is in very good condition and are the door panels. The interior is very elegant. I highly recomment that it be left alone.  it is only "original" once. Lights all work as does the radio (an original Daimler radio). All gauges work (except clock) as does the heater. Tires are new. ( with less that three-hundred miles) they are period correct B. F. Goodrich Silvertown radials. I also installed a new electronic fuel pump.   The body needs work. unfortunately most  Daimler/Jaguar Mark 2 bodies had poor rust protection from the factory.  so there is the usual rust in the lower quarter panels and doors and bottom body panels. Frame is not rusted or dented. it is solid. This car does have rust in the  bottom door panels. bottom sills have some cracks (I think from previous repairs and rust in the bottom body panels. The trunk. and all floor pans are fine. no rust. Car has several scratches and could use a respray after body work completed. Please see the attached pictures. as this gives you the best idea of the vehicles' condition. This is a car that needs to be lovingly taken car of and hopefully have the body work completed while keeping the car as original as possible. The odometer says 67. 66 miles. I doubt that is correct. but I am not really sure. since I know that car sat for at least ten years. If you are wondering about parts relax. they are available (even the small lenses that sit over the tear-drop front marker lights are ailable. ( I do have several parts which go with the car. S. N. G Barrett and other specialty shops sell parts is the U. S. I bought the tie rods from a shop in Texas. ) If you have any questions please feel free to email me.   Now the legal stuff: I reserve the right to cancel the auction at anytime prior to the end of the auction period. I will accept full payment by cash. check. cashier's check within 10 days of end of auction. I really do not want to do any bank wire transfer's. Title and car will not be released until check has cleared. I will help in making car available for pick-up/transport. GOOD LUCK on bidding. I have set the reserve price at a reasonable amount but don't ask.
