Newly designed for the 1968 model year lineup. the Dodge Charger took on a more slick Coke bottle shape over a much larger profile! The rear glass was now recessed behind the B-pillar. a small rear spoiler was integrated into the trunk. and dual scalloped hood and side panels to help accent the new bodylines! The full hidden front headlight grill remained. but was now operated by electric motors versus vacuum. The rear panel adopted new circular taillights. The overall look was very masculine and quite sinister from every angle! When ordered with the R/T (Road/Track) option. your choice of a 440ci or 426ci Hemi could be placed under the hood. along with heavy-duty brakes & suspension to manage it on the ground. The rear Bumble Stripes were left as a deletable option.
