LOTUS ELAN S4 'SPRINT' DHC 1971 'J' * COMPLETE RESTORATION PROJECT* for sale

Lotus Elan S 4 'Sprint' DHC 1971
This is a car that has recently come out of long term storage.
The previous owner has had the car for 33 years.
As can be seen from the photographs this is exactly as received.
Five previous owners.
This Elan. is I believe a batch of cars which were produced in late 1970 and was returned to the factory to be upgraded to Sprint specification.
It shows it is an Elan S 4 heritage. i. e. rear badges on the rear body work and the stainless steel embellishers.
I believe the car was put into storage after having an altercation with a wooden post. hence the damage on the drivers door and window frame (this can be straightened and repaired).
Has also had the benefit a Lotus galvanised chassis previously fitted.
The engine turns and car rolls easily.
A good opportunity for the next custodian to restore a genuine Type 45 (DHC) Elan.
Has most of it's original and difficult to obtain rare parts. i. e. correct leather bound Chapman wheel. correct 'D' type hood frame. instruments. crash pad. air box etc.
There is some history with the car and V 5 present and has an original Lotus chassis plate and an excellent registration number plate. YOR 6 J.
The car the paint code LO 5 which is red hopefully confirming that this is a genuine GLTL colour scheme.

Ford sierra based Robin Hood 7 2B- Looks like a Lotus 7 S2, lots of detail, Tribute to Lotus and Jim Clark (Took Jim's cousin Doug Niven in the car yesterday) & he is impressed!Even the Lotus Drivers Club in Scotland are impressed!!!
