SELLER REMARKS

A few years ago guys were laughing at the idea that a 1979 Trans Am like this would be worthy serious money. Today. we know that perfect examples are bringing huge money and there's no sign of that trend slowing down. So perhaps now is the time to take this showroom-fresh T/A home with you.

In a sea of black Trans Ams and tribute cars. this correct Heritage Brown Trans Am is going to stand out. If you were there. you'll recall that brown was a red-hot color and it's even seeing a comeback today. so sometimes fashion comes back. Thanks to a comprehensive professional repaint in 2009. which was only about 2000 miles ago. this gorgeous Firebird looks just about the way it must have on the showroom floor back in the day. Super straight sheetmetal. tidy gaps. and all the various urethane parts like the nose. rear bumper. and spoilers look to be in excellent condition. Thanks to modern paint technology. the finish shines almost impossibly well and with fresh decals. the overall presentation is very crisp. New weather stripping throughout ensures that it feels tight and seals up well. and someone took their time putting it all back together. The only cars nicer than this have price tags twice as big.

The tan cloth interior is all original as well. and it not only looks factory fresh. it even smells like a new car! The door panels. seats. carpets. and headliner all look crisp and impeccably maintained. and offer proof that in 1979 style was still king. The Trans Am's traditional engine-turned dash is in excellent condition with bright. crisp gauges that are almost too nice to be original. but they certainly are. The leather-wrapped steering wheel looks almost completely unused and yes. that's a 4-speed shifter sticking out of the center console. The car was very correctly restored. which means the original AM/FM stereo is in the dash and factory A/C keeps things cool. Factory floor mats help ensure it stays fresh-looking even if you decide to drive it (nobody here would blame you). Open the trunk and you'll find the original mat and a correct space-saver spare that's never been used.

The engine is a 403 cubic inch Oldsmobile V 8. which is big on torque and effortless performance. Experts. save your E-mails. because we know the Olds V 8 was never linked to a 4-speed by the factory. but the gentleman who restored this car found a factory 4-speed and made the swap just the way the factory would have done it. so it all works properly. The engine bay is detailed with correct corporate blue paint on the engine itself. that giant hood scoop. and no obvious modifications that would upset the collectors. If it wasn't a factory part. it didn't go on this car. The 4-speed really wakes up the Olds V 8 and spins a set of 3. 73 gears on a limited slip. so it's surprisingly quick around town. Gorgeous snowflake alloys look crisp and bright and carry 225/70/15 Goodyear radials at all four corners.

We're telling you right now. the market is moving on these cars. If you've always wanted one or are just looking for a smart place to park some money that will still allow you to have some fun. this is an excellent choice. Don't say we didn't tell you. Call today!
