MAZDA MX 5
"HARVARD" ltd Edition full years MOT (no advisory's)6 months tax Full service History
all pictures taken this week
The Harvard was a LTD edition run of 500 built between May & Sept 1997 all were "Silverstone" Silver with burgundy leather interior burr wood dash and momo steering wheel.
This is definitely one of the nicest Harvard's available when I bought this car 18 months ago I viewed 7 of them over a 3 month period all described as "excellent". "immaculate" or "mint" condition they were all rotten tatty sheds except one but that was up for 5 grand and was only slightly better than this one. I traveled over 150 mls to Wales for this one it was bought as a "keeper" unfortunately I am forced to sell it as I am replacing it with a BBR turbo and i don't have garaging space for both
The Mk mx 5 are prone to rust in several areas sills (due to blocked rain rails from hood). boot floors. A posts. front wings and rear arches some colors seem to be more prone than others (silver being particularly bad) consequently most Harvard's are in poor condition
this car has been very well cared for it has full service history I would guess it's always been garaged (has been by me and was by previous owner) every owner has had a personal plate on it (always a sign of a well loved car) the previous owner was a garage owner who bought it for his daughter she had it for 6 years only reluctantly giving it up after becoming pregnant.
I would describe the condition of this car as very nice condition it's not perfect (i'm very fussy) it has blemishes to the bodywork that would improve it firstly the front bumper has a scuff on it due to an argument with Bambi secondly a 2 p size of bubbling paint on the NSR wheel arch thirdly a similar spot on the boot-lid under the integral rack I have been quoted £250 to sort all these blemishes these are all quite minor hence they've not been sorted to date. (pictures included) finally the Harvard badges (enamel) have deteriorated this is also very common and they are no longer available the rare standard wheels were refurbished last year they weren't curbed but the paint Finnish had deteriorated the hood is Mohair good condition no holes rips or leaks the rear window is clear and zips out (always opened before lowering hood) the car comes with factory tonneau cover for hood also included is the hard top which has built in HRW and the flex for this (worth £450) the interior is clean and undamaged with the leather fed regularly it even has the original Harvard mats everything works as it should do (just had £225 spent on it for the MOT New wipers. new coil spring. new rear pads and rear calipers overhauled) starts on the button and drives beautifully (nice tight gearbox smooth powerful engine) heater is toasty warm (perfect for all year round topless motoring) it has a Sony face off stereo and full service history and all old MOT certificates I would happily and confidently tour Europe in this car tomorrow!
very reluctant sale go and view the other grotty boxes 1 st then compere this one you wont be disappointed £2850 Simon 3 or 1 if no answer leave a message I will call you back
