1932 Ford Roadster by GRAVE DIGGER's Dennis Anderson

On August 5 th. 2007. Mike Wales. Sr. Director of the Grave Digger Fleet. finally saw his two year old dream come true when he unveiled his fully customized 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster at the Louisville. Kentucky Street Rod Nationals where over 12. 00 custom cars older than 1948 were displayed.

In Wales' spare time. he revisited his form profession. building hot rods and street rods and acquired the '32 Roadster body and a modified chassis by Downs.

The goal: to create a 1932 Ford Highboy Roadster worthy of the name "Grave Digger. "

Wales then went to work and customized the hot rod. modifying everything on the chassis.

Beginning with the engine. Wales added a 509 cubic inch Merlin.

"This is an engine very similar to the engine that runs in the Grave Digger monster trucks. comments Wales.

With the street rod's current weight at about 2. 00 lbs. and a monster truck's weight at about 10. 00 lbs. one can only imagine what that engine might do in the lighter vehicle.

Other customizations to the vehicle include: an 871 Littlefield Blower. Coan 3-Speed transmission. a Permacool Electric Fan. a Lance's Drive Shaft. Auto Meter Gauges and an MSD Ignition System.

Dave Schoeber Upholstery did the interior of the car.

Who did the paint?!? The special Grave digger paint scheme was applied by Victory Lane and the custom flames were done by Jim's Lettering.

The same people that produced the custom paint for the Grave Digger Monster Trucks.

Dennis Anderson. main driver and head of Grave Digger. has autographed the dash.
