This is a restored 1968 Austin Mini Cooper MKII 998cc. This car was built as a left hand drive car to be exported and sold in Canada as a 1968 but was built October 30th of 1967. In October of 67 the MKI mini was replaced by the MKII and this vehicle was chassis number 899 as shown by the Heritage certificate. This is the genuine article. correct numbers matching MkII Mini which still had the sliding windows and exterior door hinges which was only on the first production MKIIs. This mini had a ground up restoration completed in 1995 and has been a collector/show car ever since.

ENGINE. BRAKES and ELECTRICAL:

The engine is the original numbers matching 998cc Cooper engine which was rebuilt with many upgrades. The cylinder head was ported. polished and planed . 090”. It has 1 1/4” rimflow intake valves. larger exhaust valves. Vizard VP7 high lift camshaft. Iskendarian lifters. Duplex chain. lightened cam gear. lightened distributor drive. 1275 cylinder head studs. long center branch header and performance stainless exhaust. I recently replace the intake manifold and completely rebuilt both SU carbs with new seals. springs. jets. throttle shafts etc. It also has K&N air cleaners (I have the original one as well). new ignition coil. magnetic pickup. cap. rotor. plugs and wires. It starts right away. runs great. pulls hard and stops very well. The hydrolastic suspension was converted to rubber cones. all the electrics operate and many of the wiring harnesses were replaced at restoration. Oil and filter are changed every spring after winter storage. I have a case of oil and a couple filters for the vehicle. It has a short shifter installed and i have the original longer shifter for it. I recently replaced the valve cover gasket and cleaned the engine. The oil pan looked to be possibly leaking but I started with replacing the valve cover gasket and then check for more leaks after the summer.

PAINT AND BODY:

This car has always been garage kept ever since restoration in 1995. The paint is a 8. 5-9 out of 10 which can be seen in the photos. The chrome is in great shape and lots of it was replaced at restoration. I just replaced the windshield with new rubber seal and chrome trim. I also replaced the rear window rubber seal and chrome. There are a few small dents on the drivers door where the door was closed on the seat belt and passenger door (as seen in the video and photos). At the passenger side rear window there is a spot where the window rubbed through the paint to metal which now has some surface rust. This is seen in the video and there is NO rust bubbling. There are also a couple rock chips and swirls from polishing.

INTERIOR:

The interior including seats and carpet were all redone at restoration in the original black color. The headliner is original and in amazing condition but unfortunately has one cut on the passenger side. The rear seat back has a crack in the middle top. The drivers seat has adapters to move the seat back an extra inch. The vehicle has a different smaller steering wheel installed but I also have the original one as well. The gauges. speedo. lights. heater. fan and door handles/locks all work! Everything is operational on this vehicle.

WHEELS AND TIRES:

The vehicle has all 5 (spare tire including) powder coated steel wheels with Pirelli P1000 10inch tires with lots of life in them.

DOCUMENTATION:

I have the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certification for the vehicle as well as the original owners manual and vehicle repair records.

Title & Registration:

Clean Title. Currently registered Vancouver B. C. Canada.

EXTRA:

I have a few boxes of extra parts. a case of oil. oil filters. repair manuals for the vehicle. carburetors and more. I have a battery maintainer with a quick plug installed to the battery.

INSPECTIONS & INQUIRIES:

I am open to and encourage inspections. Please contact me with any questions about the vehicle.

PAYMENT:

I will request a deposit of $500 through paypal within 48hrs of auction ending. I would request that the remaining payment be made in cash. money transfer. certified cashiers check etc.

Please watch the vehicle walk around video and engine start video.

Note: The vehicle is considered a 1968 but in the video I describe it as a 1967. It was built in 67 and therefore I called in a 67. Please ignore this mistake.

Can you tell me which carbs you have on this Mini?? I don't mean to waste time, but i have a 998 Mini with the VP7 Cam as well, and am having a hard time getting it to run. I have twin HS2... Thanks in advance... good luck! Nice Mini...
