Offered here is a beautiful Rolls Silver Cloud James Young custom that entices most Rolls lovers. Of the 24 James Young Silver clouds built over 4 years only 9 were built in 1956. These few cars were handcrafted aluminum bodied with custom-appointed interiors. The design features highly unusual nods to American design including the hardtop-type window openings and even more remarkable tail fins executed with typical Rolls Royce restraint. The silky smooth Silver Cloud 4. 9 liter six has an aluminum cylinder head and twin SU carburetors.
This gorgeous Rolls was delivered in April 1956 to one Hubert Daniel of the UK. The second owner was a San Diego Rolls Royce club member of long standing. The car was lovingly maintained for 5 years then a new owner. a British car specialist. set about the restoration. The engine and transmission were removed and restored as needed while the paint chrome and glass were brought up to Concours standards. The Rolls was driven some 4. 00 miles since. A complete Rolls Royce tool kit. workshop manuals and owners handbook are included. Also included is an uninstalled air conditioning system of the type introduced as a Silver Cloud option in mid 1956.
