Classic Deluxe Coupe.Looks Original 318 V8 AT Black Plate Ca. Car Mopar Hot Rod for sale
Current customer rating:
A rare 1949 De Soto Deluxe Club Coupe in Southern California. Drive this car anywhere at freeway speeds.
The flat 6 engine has been replaced by the bullet proof and reliable 318. She is whisper quiet. You can hardly hear it run.
The old fluid drive is also gone and we are running a new torque flight transmission.
The car is very original other than the engine and transmission update. The interior has just been completed. new carpet door cards. and headliner. etc. seats are very nice and have been redone in the correct material. The car is 65 years old and as such is not like driving a new Lexus but is a solid driving car. The paint is new on the bottom (Original Straw Yellow) Original black top has some minor touch up.
There are no dents. the roof is perfect and the sides are unbelievably straight. There is no cancer or rust outs.
The bottom is a bit tough where the original undercoat has peeled off.
It does not need any major mechanical repairs as the last owner was a mechanic and did the brakes rewired everything for the 12 volt system. headlights. turn signals and brake lights. horn. etc.
All of the lights work & has auxiliary gauges for heat and oil presure. Has a horn. and original radio delete.
The Windows roll easily and doors lock. When you d rive this car you get lots of thumbs up. It does have 1949 steering so it takes a little muscle to park. but the 80 dollar brodie knob that comes with the car is a help. She sports a new set of Coker 235/75 R 15's WW radials up front and they give it a nice feel on the roughest roads.
Good brakes and smooth shifting torque flight. No drips or leaks. no problems.
Has 12 volt system using a an alternator. The car had been sitting for decades in dry storage. It was pulled out and the 318 was installed.
Nice stainless trim and Grill. Has turn signals and brake lights. The car has the fresh air scoop cowl opening.
The original hub caps are a hard find and they come with the car. right now I have some Chrysler wheel covers on her.
The Hernando De Soto hood piece is designed to light up but is not currently wired.
This is a rare car. when is the last time that you have seen one ? And 2 tone paint really set it off.
Clean title and current tags. Would consider trades plus cash.
I WILL GLADLY WORK WITH BUYER TO HELP WITH TRANSPORT OF CAR Including over sea shipping. I have a little video on YOU TUBE if you want to hear it run or see it move. If you have questions you can
