The Rover P 4 series of cars were manufactured from 1949 through
to 1964 during which period several models were produced the Rover
60. 75. 80. 90. 95. 100. 105 and 110 models. Apart from the 60 and
80. the models all had in-line six cylinder engines with overhead
inlet valves and side exhaust valves. Various transmissions were
used including either a manual overdrive box or. until 1959. the
option of the manual gearbox with a free wheel unit. The bodies
were mounted on a separate chassis with independent suspension. by
coil springs at the front and semi elliptical leaf springs at the
rear. By 1950 the brakes were fully hydraulic with discs at the
front becoming standard from 1959. The final member of the P 4
family was the P 4 95 and 110 series. Introduced in 1962. the car
was luxurious with its silky 2. 6 litre straight six engine and
stopping power via the power assisted Girling brakes. The coachwork
featured an alloy bonnet. doors and boot lid with the interior
finished in wood and leather.
We are proud to offer an outstanding example of a Rover 110. br/>supplied originally by Leathwoods Ltd of Croydon on 9 th May 1963.
When she changed hands for the first time in 1968. she had covered
approximately 30. 00 miles. The second owner used 7766 VB sparingly
and covered just 44. 00 miles during his 44 years of ownership. The
current vendor. who is a classic car enthusiast. is only selling
her due to lack of suitable storage space. This Rover 110 appears
to be very original. although the two nearside door panels suffered
some minor damage in 1969. Fitted with the rare and more
comfortable individual front seats and supplied with a V 5
registration document it also has a full years Mo T test certificate
and history file. This car is in splendid condition and a delight
to drive with a very modest estimate. given the originality of such
a fine example.
