STUNNING 1979 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK V DOCUMENTED 36. 98 ORIGINAL MILES

IMPORTANT INTRODUCTORY NOTES: This 1979 LINCOLN CONTINENTAL MARK V CARTIER EDITION is an EXCEPTIONAL motorcar in every way.

It is NOT for everyone. it is for the discerning Classic Car enthusiast who wants "the best".

It is one of the very few cars that is so "near new" that it will handily win awards in Classic Car Shows of all types in all venues. BUT. it is also suitable for enjoyable drives in the country. or wherever you may want to go.

Its 36. 98 miles are documented ON THE TITLE as original miles. attesting to the fact that mileage has been consistently reported to all involved DMVs over the past 34 years.

It has ALWAYS been treated as something very special. and has never been relegated to "used car" status.

THE FIRST DOZEN PICTURES will give you a general overview of this beautiful Mark V.

But if you are seriously interested. we suggest that you look at ALL 150+ images because we want you to see EVERYTHING.

This is one of those rare vehicles that looks BETTER the CLOSER you LOOK! It's a bit unusual for ANY e Bay listing to have 150 images. but this is an unusually fine car that "enjoys" scrutiny.

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING. TO SEE ALL THE IMAGES: There are well over 100 images that will show the car in great detail. BUT. to see ALL of the images. you MUST place your cursor DIRECTLY ON an image. and then scroll gently ALL the way to the bottom (be sure to allow time for all the images to load). CAUTION: If you use the scroll bar to the FAR right of your screen - OR. the "Click to View Image Album" feature - you will NOT be able to see all the images!

2. 75 TRANSACTIONS WITH HAPPY PEOPLE! As of the date of this listing. we've had 2. 75 transactions (both Buying AND Selling) on e Bay without a single complaint.

One of the keys to our success is to show LARGER and MORE images than almost any other e Bay listing. so you can CLEARLY see what you are getting.

We also give a very detailed description of the car. not just a couple sentences like many listings.

QUESTIONS?. after reviewing ALL the images and reading the entire description. please call Jim Murphy if you have any questions:

THE LINCOLN MARK V IS AN AMERICAN ICON. fine examples of the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado eventually rose to enormous value because it was in many ways the car that epitomized the 1950 s.

If you like fins and chrome. NO 1950 s automobile makes quite the statement as the 1959 Cadillac.

The 1979 Lincoln Mark V fits the same bill for the 1970 s that the 1959 Cadillac Eldorado did for the 1950 s.

The Mark V stands as the most radical and dramatic styling statement that proudly proclaims "bigger is better". a popular theme in the 1970 s before the practicalities of the world pressured automakers to build entirely different cars.

With the Mark V. the stylist was king.

If Duesenberg was still in business in 1979. their car may very well have looked a lot like the Mark V.

In 1979. the MARK V was THE status car to have.

Even more deluxe were the Designer Editions of the Mark V. influenced by such famous names in fashion as Cartier. Pucci. Givenchy. and Bill Blass.

The Cartier was considered by most to be the most elegant. and was in the highest demand then. as it is now.

INVESTMENT POTENTIAL. the most exceptional. greatest. dramatic. and last of anything automotive is generally destined for the handsomest appreciation.

This is already happening with the BEST examples of the Mark V.

They were tremendous road cars. and were expensive. so as a practical matter. people drove them great distances and wore them out! Worn-out examples abound. and are not expensive. though restoration costs make them prohibitive to substantially improve. and they are not of interest to most serious collectors.

Fine examples of the 1979 Mark V have been steadily increasing. with some super-low mileage cars priced at $50. 00 and more.

But anything with less than 5000 miles in a 1979 model is not likely fit to drive. from a valuation depreciation standpoint and also from a mechanical standpoint (e. g. seals deteriorate badly in cars that are not driven. corrosion begins where oils and antifreeze should have been circulating. brake lines freeze. etc. ).

THIS car has had just enough light driving over the past 34 years (an average of about 20 miles per week) to keep it running smoothly. it's whisper quiet and has a luxurious feel that soaks up all the bumps for a ride that no new car can duplicate.

PROFESSIONALLY APPRAISED . at $20. 00

THE CARTIER EDITION is distinguished by its exclusive Light Champagne exterior finish. which "takes on" the lighting characteristics around it. changing from a "Golden Champagne" when in bright sunlight to "Light Champagne" later in the day and at dusk.

The leather seating is in a complimentary Champagne color. but with the same Dark Red accents as the padded Landau roof has in the trim-band that holds the dramatic exterior Opera Lamps.

SPECIAL FEATURES AND OPTIONS ON THIS CAR. this Cartier is loaded with special Designer Series and Extra-Cost Options which include: Exterior Opera Lamps. Cast Aluminum Turbine-Vane Wheels. Six-way Power Seat for BOTH driver and passenger. Tilt-Steering. Speed Control. Interior Lighting Group (illuminated Vanity Mirrors in both Visors and Dual-beam reading lamp dome light). Illuminated Entry. Miles to Empty Computer. Power Lock Group. doors and trunk. Power Mini-vent windows. Defroster Group. Illuminated Outside Thermometer. AUTOMATIC Headlamp Dimmer and AUTOMATIC headlamp-off feature (customizable time-to-off). Citizen's Band Radio. and the most expensive Audio Entertainment Package available: Electronic AM/FM-Stereo Radio with Quadraphonic 8-Track Player.

OPERATIONALS. it is an absolute "trip back in time" to drive this car! It is velvet-smooth with a "magic carpet" ride that just isn't available anywhere in new cars. The transmission shifts smoothly through all gears.

The automatic temperature-control AC has been converted to the modern R-134 refrigerant and blows nice and cold.

I believe EVERYTHING to be operational with the possible exception of the CB radio. which "lights up". but I am not familiar with CB radios and have never used one.

It MIGHT work. or it may require some testing/adjustment/repair. I'm just not sure.

I will also mention that the Radio and 8-track play nicely. but only through the rear speakers.

I have never been bothered by this. but if the new owner wants to investigate. there may simply be a loose connection or control to be cleaned to coax the front speakers into action.

Finally. the LED readouts for the radio are now 34 years old. so a few of the "segments" which create the digits no longer illuminate.

You will only notice this on some stations requiring those segments to display the station number. but this in NO way affects the actual reception or listening.

BEWARE THE "CLICK-OVER" MARK Vs ! These cars were so well engineered. that if cared for. they can look pretty good even after they have clicked-over 100. 00 miles and have started again (with their limited 5-digit odometers) with readings of 15. 00. 20. 00. etc.

Many sellers just report the odometer reading and don't bother to tell you that the odometer reading is NOT accurate.

One of the best ways to spot the "click-over" car is to carefully examine the steering wheel woodgrain trim.

The woodgrain pattern on the steering wheel is delicate. and wears and cracks easily.

It should look like new (as it does on this car) if it is TRULY a low-mileage car.

HOWEVER. all "click-over" cars will show SIGNIFICANT wear-away of the woodgrain and quite likely a lot of cracking on the woodgrain base material as well.

So check the steering wheel carefully. it's a better overall mileage indicator in these cars than the odometer!

The Title states that the mileage is original. if it were not - or if it were in doubt - the title would have read "exempt".

Even with new cars. "anything can happen at anytime".

This car is 34 years old and has been exceptionally well-maintained. it will require continued maintenance and repair from time to time. and sometimes without warning!
