with a heavy heart. and for varies reasons. im offering up my 1978 r16tx auto for sale. she is mot'd untill november. nd taxed untill june. much work has gone into her. /span>he car is an original RHD uk car. she was last taxed in 1984 when i believe she went to live in south of france. i bought her from a french collector who had stored the car since 2000. in Normandy. the car is on her original registration with 1 former owner on log book! who came from Edinburgh. span >
The car was not accident damaged. the original front wings/bonnet were very rusty. so good secondhand metal panels were fitted. however. she also had new sills fitted. but the panel fitting is not perfect. nd will need addressing. and the bodywork needs attention . here is rust in the doors and tailgate lip. and then needs painting. s i say. she's an on going project! i have spent in total just under 4k on the car. had a new rear suspension mount. new brake/fuel pipes. replaced petrol tank. cts. /span> engine is very sweet. there has been an issue with the auto box. but appears to be the electric plug? the gearbox itself appears fine. and changes very smoothly. /span>then slips into kick down mode. hence why we think its more "outside" the gearbox fault. otherwise she just wouldn't work!!! with this in mind. i recommend if the car sells. to transport her instead of driving.  she has done 95. 00 miles. and was last taxed in the uk in 1984! i do know she has been off the rd since 2000 at least. ntill now!    i recommend viewing before bidding. ad can be test driven . she is an on going  project car. with alot of the "unseen" hard work done. nbsp;  Genuine reason for sale. i too many cars to cope with !!  if this does not sell. i'll just keep her. the TX is very rare. with only a very few remaining in the uk. nbsp;
