1947 BENTLEY MK.V1 SPECIAL Reg number HKD545 Chassis number B220AK. for sale

1947 Bentley MK. V 1 Special. Registration number HKD 545 Chassis number B 220 AK.
The first production Bentley was Chassis number B 2 AK and Bentley's system at that time was to use even numbers only. so this Chassis is only the 110 th ever manufactured.
In my ownership the body has been removed from the chassis and both the chassis and body have been repainted in British Racing Green. new leather seats have been made and the inside of the car has been recarpeted.
It is equiped with a full windscreen which is stored in the boot area and the Bentley is also fitted with Brooklands aero screens which can be seen in the pictures. There is a hood and hood frame. although I have never tried to put it up. so it might work or might not!
The suspension has been lowered and the engine/gearbox moved back to give the car an excellent balance. this was carried out by Stewart Gordon of the Scottish Region of the Bentley Drivers Club. the Bentley is sometimes known as The Gordon Special ( there is a picture of the car page 297/8 in Bentley Specials and Special Bentleys Vol 1 by Ray Roberts )
It has been fitted with a new aluminium fuel tank with a new racing fuel cap filler and brass fuel tank ventilators. a stainless steel exhaust system. the dash is polished turned aluminium. a new steering wheel. new side lights and head lights with stone guards and rear diver helmet lights are also fitted. Bentley side foot plates are fitted on both sides and the Bentley has wire wheels fitted with the Dunlop Racing Tyres. new M. O. T and road fund licence.
I am a member of The Bentley Drivers Club and have had many Bentley Specials over the years. this one just has the right looks and feel to it. the pictures do not do justice to the car £79500. ( car is in the Westcountry )
