A loss of storage forces sale of some of my classic car collection and here we have one of my Mk 2 Escort vans sporting RS 2000 running gear.Bought already converted and owned by me since 2019 as part of my classic car collection. I have Mot'd the van once since I have owned it and the van has only stayed locked away within my dry insulated garages since my ownership. The test has now expired and although now over 40 years old, potential becoming a Historic vehicle, I will put a new test on the van for the new owner should my reserve be met.I got the van out of storage today and drove it about 3 miles. The van does everything it should do, it ran and drove perfectly with all gages responding to correct levels etc. The van has the 2.0 litre OHC / now known as "pinto" engine coupled to a 5 speed box. It sports RS dash and clocks, black beta cloth fishnet recaro seats (in very good condition), and the van has a sound deadening material within the cargo area that could probably do with ply lining or covering in some material. The engine is a 2 litre with weber carb, K & N filter with a large alloy radiator and kenlow type of electric fan. The van drove very responsive today with no smoke, rattles or noises of concern....it just puts a smile on your face. The van has a set of RS Alloy wheels on all four corners with "as new" tyres all-round. The van has had the cills painted black and the whole of the underside is well undersealed, very much protecting the van but I would also assume the van would have had some welding in the past, so please allow for this or come and inspect for yourself. Oh. I think the steering has a "quick rack" system and the gear change is very minimal, so probably an up-rated box as is the suspension / shocks etc. There is a fairly extensive history file with the van showing previous owners, mot's, tax disc's etc and quite a lot of the earlier service history. There is even the original bill of sale from "Bristol Street Motors" of Birmingham showing the van first purchased on 20/03/1981 for the sum of £2365.84. (Vat was 15% in those days ??).The original colour on file is described as "cordoba beige". I'd say the van has had paint on some areas in the past and their are a few blemishes and minor knocks here and there. Nothing major for a van as the photo's show, but again, please allow for this or come and view before bidding.  Currently on SORN and V5c held in my name, only on offer due to loss of storage. Viewing welcome in RH7 Lingfield Surrey area. Willing to put a fresh Mot on should it sell for my reserve price and I see no reason that the van won't drive anywhere once taxed and insured by the new owner.  I can help with a trusted haulier if required at the cost of £1.25 a mile one way. Viewing welcomed. Thanks for looking and good luck with your bids. As mentioned, potential loss of storage brings a few of my classic up for sale, so please see my other items I may have listed. I'll start with a low start price with a realistic reserve (I think), which I won't reveal. This is a great little van looking for a new owner to preserve and enjoy. Please view if interested and I will reply to any questions as quickly as possibile.  Thanks again for looking.
