Up for sale is my Ford Cortina 2000 e from 1973. I purchased the car in November 2011. She's beautiful as you can see. Underneath she is as solid as a rock with no welding ever. The bodywork is excellent. The car has been resprayed at some point in the past using the original ford Aerosilver colour that the car was driven out of the factory. There is some small areas of light bubbling which is usual for a car of this age. There are two holes on the very underside of the front wings (one on each side) which have been filled at some point but not too well and wouldn't be difficult to put right. The car has a pull back concertina type roof which is watertight. The vinyl roof is good except for the back pillar on the drivers side which has some splitting. again an easy fix as the vinyl is available online or could be made good as is
Since owning the car I have replaced the exhaust system. 4 new tyres . replaced the front brake calipers and shoes. replaced the front anti roll bar bushes. fitted stylish door mirrors. and fitted rear static belts (2).
The interior is the original. Some wear to top of rear seat cover. which is quite common and not too bad. door cards are uncut and car still has original LW MW ford radio.
the car runs well but could do with a fine tune.
The car car has developed a small problem recently where the engine dies when slowing down. this has happened a couple of times and starts fine immediately and carries on.
Very low genuine mileage of 56000 from new.
I am selling because i want to get a Camper van. I will consider a trade for the right van.
MOTed till november 2013 but a new MOT will be put on the car to the winning bidder.
Not sure how many 2000 E's are still around but this is a rare car in this condition. The car is 40 years old this year and turns heads wherever she goes.
Hi. Just received this email from a previous owner detailing some of the work undertaken on the car :-
hi. this car was mine . you need to tell people that i had it stripped down to bare metal then had it fully resprayed in it original colour . the engine was stripped and de coked . i had and the wheels sand blasted and resprayed silver then i personally took 3 days carefully painting in the black sections with smooth hammerite. and much much more . this is THE BEST 2000 E anywhere .

Also forgot to mention that I fitted a new heater matrix last year.
