1972 DATSUN 240 Z UK RHD Car with Original Engine & 5 speed Gearbox. ax Exempt

My 240 z is a 1972 (registered 02/1973) tax exempt non-sunroof model. Nice 5-digit number plate. Paint is a special order BMW Z 3 colour. Aegean Blue. it is a dark metallic blue. but in the sun it takes on a lovely greeny blue sheen.

Interior - seats and door cards have been retrimmed in cream leather with blue piping. at a costing over £1000.

Fitted with a set of reconditioned SU HS 3's and K+N sports filters. The ignition is 280 zx electronic ignition as is the coil. and the HT leads are expensive high performance ones. The alternator is a new upgraded item from the States.

Brakes – Recently replaced master cylinder and braided stainless flexible hoses. new steels on front. Front calipers rebuilt. new discs and pads.

Suspension - all new uprated front and rear anti-roll bars. 10% uprated strut inserts and 1" lowered springs all round. Front and rear strut braces fitted. handling is very impressive for a car of it's era

Wheels - New Konig Rewinds 16' x 7 J (imported from US) and new tyres

Clutch - 280 zx flywheel. recent clutch. release bearing. master cylinder and slave cylinder.

Seat belts replaced with new inertia reels imported from the USA.

Heater blower unit replaced by higher volume Honda item. Lots of small bits eg rubbers. seals. plugs etc all replaced.

Full service completed including all filters. new oil. coolant changed. brakes fluid renewed. all coolant hoses and fuel lines replaced.

Drives very well. start easily and runs smoothly. previous owner had it tuned by an old school carburetor specialist. and it hasn't missed a beat in my ownership.

The car is a no expense spared toy. which has had a lot of money spent over the years. I have a huge wad of receipts for parts and work completed on the car by previous owners and myself. along with photographic evidence of it's full strip down to bare metal shell and restoration inside and outside in 1999.

ust have not had time to fit yet.

The car is MOT'd until April 2014 and taxed until June 2014 (but that's free anyway).

It is a beautiful looking and sounding car which turns heads wherever it is driven. I am not entirely sure I want to part with it

Unfortunately my over ambitious house restoration is now taking every spare minute.

Some very minor blemishes and a tiny area of paint blistering on the bonnet but overall a very genuine car in excellent condition and ready for someone to enjoy. please feel free to
