Today I have for auction my 1940 Ford Coupe that was semi built by George Barris who is reputed to be the American King of Custom Car builders(BATMAN CAR just sold for over $4. 00. 000. 00 A chrome slam panel is fitted to the front radiator Battery in trunk Electric cooling fan for rad as well as chrome normal fan 3 Speed auto with shift kit

Huge 3 inch chrome tailpipes. this car really has an awesome burble soudtrack

BODYThe original inner fenders have been removed and replaced with polished stainless steel units that have been louvered. Hood hinges have been chrome plated. Underside of the hood has been hand pinstriped in red and blue . the hood has also been louvered. Body has been chopped and is faultless with no stress cracks . All windows are glass with a front period split screen Firewall has been smoothed with all unnecessary items removed The firewall has then had an amazing RAT FINK MURAL painted which really is something to behold. It is surrounded by hand pinstriping. The car has the Barris famed Rat Fink emblems on wings and dashboard. Car is hand pinstriped under hood. irewall. ash. oor jams and trunk. Trunk is hydraulic open and shut. Trunk handle has been removed.

Paint is deep red with a light gold flake in the clear coat. it then has airbrushed flames in white to yellow to orange fade all outlined in hand pinstriped blue. Doors have had the door handles shaved with remote opener. Petrol tank fill located in trunk as

Twin spots(not connected) fitted to front pillars.

Rear scuttle has 2 frenched high level brake lights. Rear tail lights are led.

Old school reversing mirrors fitted to doors A full white padded Carlson top is fitted and is totally unmarked.

Dummy header exit through port holes in front lower fenders Frenched ariels are mounted in each front wing Running board rubbers are as new Kerb tubes are fitted to front of each running board

INTERIORThe interior is faultless with a full red on white old school tuck and roll trim.

The headlinner is perforated white with red piping.

Carpets are unmarked quality deep pile red.

The rear shelf is padded white with red piping.

All trim is excellent

All weather strips have been replaced.

Dash where clocks are mounted has been chromed.

Clock glasses have been given a red tint

I had a huge Alpine stereo with subs fitted before it left California.

Head unit is in glove box.

Original steering wheel with PAS.

Electric windows with concealed switches in the door panels.

Separate

oil pressure and water temp gauges.

Car runs full oil pressure and does not get hot at all .

All switches have custom ends fitted.

Extented shift lever to make car look as though its a manual Original interior mirror fitted

Car is not concourse but is very nice could be brought up to absolute show stopping standard with very little effort. Has minor chips and marks on paint. Ive owned for over 6 years and was probably built about 15 years ago. Look at what this is worth in the USA work out the cost of shipping and see what a bargain you are getting. Im only selling as I fancy a change This is a true all steel hot rod with fantastic pedigree. Not rushed to sell. This car can only go up in value. Registered as 1940 and title shows 1940. Car really has to be viewed to be appreciated. True Hot Rod enthusiasts will understand the builder and the rarity of this car

True, I am the widow of Bill Michaelson and he definitely built this car. He passed away 2008.

I know for a fact that my friend Bill Michaelson of little canada mn built this car in the early 90's > George Barris had nothing to do with it. the car was featured in street rodder magazine october 1992 page 96.
