ABOUT THE CARI am selling my genuine unmolested example of a 1990 Ford Escort Eclipse MK 4 1297 cc in Bahama blue with 85500 miles (on going as occasional use). MOT'd to 27/01/2017. The V 5 c is present. It is currently used by my wife and myself for short daily commutes and is extremely reliable what ever the weather. It has a 1297 cc HCS Engine (Smooth and responsive) matched to a 5 speed gear box (Smooth gear change). Central locking. Electric front windows and manual mirrors. Digital clock. Tilt and Slide sunshine roof (no leaks). Radio/CD player (non genuine). Rev counter and Manual choke. For those of you who don't know or are unsure. these cars do not have power steering but steering is light and responsive. It has 5 good tyres. size 185-60 -14" on the correct steel rims with genuine Ford XR 3 i white pearlescent wheel trims. I have never been able to obtain the correct original type wheel trims. Genuine Ford front mud flaps. The interior is extremely good and exceptionally clean with no rips. tears. burns. frays or fading. The front seat bolsters are not misshapen and are still well sprung. This is a non-smokers car. BRIEF HISTORY

I purchased this vehicle 14 February 2011 from a recovery business. Wickford Car & Commercials. in Wickford Essex. I believe it had been broken into or stolen when the previous owner had it as it had damage to the drivers door lock. It has Never been listed as stolen or as a Cat D uneconomic repair.

It had done about 63000 miles (genuine) when I bought it and it had a valid MOT.

I was not given any service history

but I did write to the previous owner in Stanford-le-Hope Essex to see if they had any but they did not reply. There is however documented service history from me since I purchased it and I have all the MOT certs.

To my knowledge it has never been involved in an accident. certainly not in my ownership.

Just after I purchased the car and after some bodywork was done. a complete new lock set was fitted which I had salvaged from a car I had owned from new and scrapped.

The Battery tray. fuse box area. rear wheel arches and sills are all original . Air and Oil filters. Spark plugs and Oil replaced annually. On 05/11/2013(mileage 77769) the car was fitted with new front brake discs and pad and new rear wheel cylinders and brake shoes. Also R/H track control arm and R/H steering rack ball joint. Most of this was done for MOT. A new battery was fitted 22/07/2015. This year and recently it has benefited from a new set of ignition leads and indicator lighting switch stalk. I have receipts with dates and mileage when this was done. I have also had the roof resprayed due to crazing so I would say 95% of the car has now been resprayed. The pinstripes decals have been removed from both sides. The Escort decals on the front doors and the the Eclipse decal on the tailgate still remain. CONCLUSIONThis is a very good. genuine example of a Ford Escort Eclipse and would be a good future investment for any Ford enthusiast.
