A beautiful example of this ever popular mark.
The MK 1 Escort.
With a history in competition to make any car manufacturer envious. it reigned supreme for over a decade.
The MK 1 in particular ranged from the Lotus Twin Cam. The rare RS 1600. the RS 2000 & the Mexico as the main sporting versions.
BODY
A steel bubble arched RS 1600 in Daytona Yellow.
The paintwork is exeptional with the engine bay. wheel arches & the chassis all painted also.
Restored & owned by Francis Morrice before selling to Ken Henderson of HASS a specialist motorsport retailer who specialise in Escorts from Ireland.
ENGINE
The engine has been rebuilt to original spec inc valve sizes. cams. webers. airbox etc etc & also retains an original cam cover.
INTERIOR
The interior trim again is as would be expected.
Retaining what is believed to be the original spec Restall bucket seats & Spingalex steering wheel.
SUMMARY
The car is a very well restored vehicle with many original parts.
The car is believed to have been first registered with the AVO owners club in 1988.
A 6 page article in Retro Ford June 2011 describes the vehicle as stunning & one of the best out there.
