ROVER P5 3 LITRE SALOON - 66K MILES FROM NEW AUTO WITH PAS !!

Introduced in 1958. five years before P 4 production finished. the P 5 was larger and better-equipped than the car it replaced. It was equipped with a 3-litre version of the “inlet over exhaust” P 4 engine. producing 115 bhp. The P 5 was much roomier than the P 4 and quickly found favour with government officials. Prime Ministers and even the Queen. Early versions are better built than the P 5 B model and are becoming rare. They are also under-valued and represent great value for money.

This car is a 1962 P 5 3 litre automatic saloon with power steering in its original colour scheme of Rush green over Shadow green. The mileage is correct at 66. 00. the V 5 shows just four owners from new and the car carries its original registration number. Cosmetically and structurally this Rover is excellent and as you would expect at this mileage. it drives beautifully. The interior is in very good original condition and everything works including the original period radio.

This is the third time that we have owned this beautiful Rover and it is in better order now than at anytime we have known it. thanks to much expenditure in recent years. including a new “S. U” carburettor. top-end engine overhaul. new fuel pump. bottom half re-paint. replacement “D” posts. re-chroming of the front and rear bumpers. stainless exhaust. new rear shocks and bushes as well as routine servicing.
It comes with a substantial history file including all original books. workshop manual. buff logbook and original brochures.
