Peugeot 403 - compact car, produced by the company В«PeugeotВ» from 1955 to 1966.
For the first time the Peugeot 403 saw the light in 1955 Peugeot 403 with a body В«sedanВ». Until 1958 the hood of a car decorated with chrome-plated figure of the lion - the symbol of the company В«PeugeotВ», but in 1959 he was replaced by the logo in a Cabinet for security reasons. Originally Peugeot 403, as well as his predecessor Peugeot 203, equipped with a petrol engine in volume of 1,2 liters. Later it was replaced by a four-cylinder engine for the 1.4-litre capacity of 65 horsepower. The highlight of this motor was a thermostat, which has been included in the temperature of +84oC and cooled engine up to +75oC. He also allowed to reduce fuel consumption by 5-10 % depending on the speed of movement of the car. Peugeot 403 also has a four-mechanical transmission, rear drive.
