Sunbeam Alpine series II sports car

Sale price: £7,250.00 make an offer

Car location: Doncaster, South Yorkshire, United Kingdom

Seller's notes: Chrome is presentable but not great, some blemishes on the paintwork , small tear in drivers seat at a seam, whine from the rear axle at a certain speed. Tappets rattle a bit when hot. Hard top needs some work to be fully functional. Drivers window mechanism needs looking at, and the chrome upright at the front of the door is missing a screw or bolt which might explain the window issue.

A very attractive old British sports car that attracts a lot of attention . It looks gorgeous in Wedgewood blue with wire wheels.  and those amazing fins look so classy. Later models lost the fins and lost some character as well in my opinion although still nice cars. This car has only had two previous owners according to the registration documents.  It seems the car was renovated back in early nineties and had very little use before being put away in a garage. The tax disc on the windscreen expired in 1994 although there are insurance documents in the history file beyond this date . its possible the previous owner insured the car even though it may not have been out on the road.  The car was bought  last year from an elderly gentleman who was moving house and was downsizing . the car had been covered up in his garage for many years. The car was slowly re-commissioned over the winter months with much  time and money being spent getting her ready for the road again . The car had a carburettor conversion done at some stage . the original carburettor is in the boot The following have all been replaced . Spark plugs. HT leads. rotor arm condenser distributor cap. fuel hose . radiator hoses. new brakes rubber boots wipers new front suspension springs new rear suspension springs new track rod ends wheel cylinder oil service and professional engine tune. there are  probably numerous other items I have forgotten about over the last 9 months. It had a small amount of welding done as recommended  by the garage  who overhauled the suspension . It  passed its MOT with no advisories. There are still loads of little jobs which could be done to improve this car and increase the value further if that's what you want . or you could just enjoy it as it is on sunny days. whatever you do. nbsp;I'm convinced it would be well worth it and a great investment. In my opinion (And Quinton Wilsons TV presenter) these pretty sports cars are so under valued and prices can surely only go up. Apart from having the looks. they are also a very  practical classic. They have a small engine so good  on fuel . parts are very reasonably priced with several suppliers around the country. nbsp;and  there is no road tax to pay.  The car is currently insured fully comprehensive for £98 which I think takes  some beating. The car had a private registration earlier in its life. the current registration although very nice is non transferable according to the log book. The car comes with a convertible top. a factory hard top. as well as a tonneau cover. Please feel free to ask any questions.   Anyone interested. would be welcome to view the car at a mutually convenient time. before the end of the auction. nbsp;its garaged at our  home in Doncaster.  Polite request. please only bid on the car if you have a genuine desire to own it. as the wining bid is the final price and non negotiable afterwards.

Happy Bidding

Update on the registered mileage. I have been out this evening in the sunbeam and noticed the mileage recorder  is faulty. after covering about  10 miles the mileage had almost doubled it was clocking up thousands of miles as I watched. the second digit from the left was going round much faster than it should. I covered about 40. 00 miles in 20 minutes driving. the sunbeam is quite nippy but Im sure its  not that fast ! :-) So I  cant guarantee what the correct mileage might be.
