1983 Volkswagen Mk1 Golf BBS

I feel the time has come to move on my precious little Mk1 Golf which i have owned for 3 years.  

During my ownership i have changed -
New front brakes
New front disks and pads
New rear drum cylinders
New rear drum internalsNew cambelt
New waterpump
New fuel pump
New rubber pipe that connects the fuel filler neck to the fuel tank (common to break)
New crank case breather (common problem on the small block engines as they can block up over time)
New rocker cover gasket
New clutch. pressure plate and release bearing
New clutch cable
New choke cableNew points
New condenser
New rotor arm and dizzy capNew down pipe
New rear section of exhaust
Rebuild carb with all new gaskets. diaphrams and float valve etc
New lower arms
New ball joints
New front bushes
New battery
New genuine hella headlights
New 2 lamp front grill with the red gti stripe around with genuine chrome VW badge
New GTI front splitter
GTI arch spats GTI side stripes that are 100% replicas to the originals
Metal pressed plates that are reflective with German font lettering.
New dash lights (original spec bulbs)
It has a wolfsburg steering wheel which are very desirable and the horn push is intact which it a rarity
The interior is full GTI cloth seats
Wolfsburg window winders. mirror adjusters and door lock pins
The car is fitted with coilover suspension.
The wheels are genuine BBS RS' 3 piece splits - The fronts are 15x8 with 185/45 tyres on - The rears are 15x9 with 195/45 tyres on.
Im sure there is plenty more that i have missed but feel free to ask any questions about the car if you are genuinely interested.
I have pictures of almost every part that i have changed as proof.
This car gets a great amount of attention where ever i take it.  Even just popping to the local shop on many occasions i have eventually returned home after 30 mins of someone wanting to know about the car and share their past stories of owning a Mk1.
I have had people taking photos and videos of it driving down the motorway. people waving at you. i have even had a group of people ask to have their photos took next to it.

The car is the main January car in the Mk1 Golf Owners Club 2014 Calendar which i could include a copy if you so wish.

I have took this car to many shows and met some great people who all share the same vw enthusiasm.
In August last year. i drove it to Lieden in Holland for the annual show M. I. V. W (Men in volkswagen event) which was a 1000 mile round trip with over 10 hours almost non stop driving each way.  The car did it with no troubles at all. never missed a beat. and she purred all the way there. I wouldn't have any problem with getting into the car now and driving the length of the country as im very confident it will do it with no problems. I'm that sure in fact. i have never had UK break down cover on the car! 
So dont let the little 1. 1 and 4 speed box put you off. shes as strong as an ox and just keeps on going. It starts up first time every time. even in the cold weather! I never wanted to swap the engine due to the small amount of 1. 1 Golf C's left on the road. but once its yours. im sure you could drop a big dirty Vr6. mental 20vt or get it screaming with a valver!

Shes such a great little car and has served me well. I will miss it. and im sure i will regret selling her as soon as i see someone else drive her away. I can almost guarantee tears will be shed!! However i feel if i dont let her go to a new home now. ill never be able to let her go! 
Reason for sale is due to wanting something fast and loud. leaning towards a Nissan 350z or 200sx at the moment - if you happen to have a 350z or a 200sx or something along those lines and fancy a part ex - give me a shout!The car is very clean. and straight. not one car park ding down the sides of the car at all. She does have a few blemishes but she is entitled to it being an unrestored 31 year old car! Only thing wrong with the car is the fact the heater has stopped working. but just needs a new motor putting in. Only a £30 part. but hasn't bothered me as i dont drive the car in the winter or the rain.
The handbrake is weak too. i think it many just need new cables. Again its never bothered me as i always leave it in gear when its parked and not bothered with the handbrake.
Viewing is highly recommended if you are a serious buyer. I do not want any tyre kickers. time wasters. or morons offering to swap it with a rude boy corsa or anything along those lines!!!
