Highlights
• Interior - Mostly original interior includes correct (1 yr only) 1967 short middle seat and original aero papyrus/steel sidewall/door panels and color coded front/middle rubber mats. Morgan Bulleigh upholstery in Wichita. KS installed custom order matched front. middle. and rear seat covers/cushions along with rebuilding the sunroof mechanism. installing a new TMI sunroof cover. and putting Dynamat type sound deadener behind all door/sidewall panels. Notice small details like original aero papyrus/steel panel for side of middle seat and bottom of rear seat. Headliner is original and all jail bars are present. Front door panels are currently off the car but original. The lower section of the fiberboard panel needs to be flattened/repaired (see picture). I also have the original color coded spare tire cover which is very stiff/old but I don't recall ever having seen one of these.

• Engine – Less than 200 miles on 2007 cc (78. 4 x 90. 5) on 1st over AS-21 fuel injection case and 8. 3 to 1 compression. CB Perfomance 78. 4mm Chevy journal crank. Scat 5. 5 inch Chevy journal H Beam rods. Mahle 90. 5 B pistons/cylinders. Scat C35 (Engle 110) cam. Bugpack forged 1. 25 ratio rockers. Bugpack 40 x 35. 5 Street Pro heads with Dual Dellorto 40 DRLAs (rebuilt by Alfa1750 from Evilbay) on CB offset manifold/linkage setup running a new Vintage Speed stainless steel exhaust. Engine was built by Joe Weible (Wichita. KS) and dynamically balanced by Saum Engineering. 36 hp style doghouse fan shroud and facet electric fuel pump. All engine components were new except for rebuilt carbs.

• Transmission – less than 200 miles on IRS transmission rebuilt by Bill Shanks (T&H Transmission. Tulsa. OK who has outstanding Samba feedback). Shift rod bushings were replaced at same time.

• Suspension – lowered 3. 5” front and rear with flipped spindles in front and IRS straight axle conversion in rear. New BRM replicas with fresh rubber (Dunlop 195/65s front and Yokohama 205/70s rear). New drag link installed so steering is tight.

• Paint/Body/Rust – Overall Bus is in excellent and original shape. Rust is minimal and appears that no panels have ever been replaced. Bus was repainted a slightly lighter/brighter version of Sea Blue. paint is a 8 out of 10 with a some small rust bubbles around upper rain rail and on bottom of cargo door. small dent on LH rear corner. Minor rust on small sections of cargo floor is in need of cleanup but doesn't need any sheet metal replacement. Bus had a minor “event” on the front right corner that was repaired and not noticeable at all from the outside and in no way affects the door alignment or operation that I don't have any history on. Almost all 47 year old vehicles having some history/damage. all things considered I think this bus in great shape overall for an original vehicle.

• Other – Clear Washington title in my name and I have the Birth Certificate from the VW museum confirming the factory M Code options. Bus spent most of its life in Southern California and was purchased from an older couple in Newport Beach. CA that had owned for many years but it mostly sat in the garage just as it has since I have owned it. Bus was moved from Newport Beach to Wichita. KS when I bought it and re-titled/registered in Kansas. I moved to the Seattle. WA area in July 2011 where the bus is currently located.

• Spare parts include window/door seals. rear bumper bracket. brake parts. original color coded seat belts. extra yard or so of the TMI color matched upholstery material. miscellaneous interior items. Bentley shop manual. and a few other things. See picture of spare parts

To do list - Good news for hobbyists!
• Front doors open and close but are a big saggy. replacement oversize hinge pin bushings are included.
• Clutch slips slightly under full throttle in 3rd and 4th gear. Since the bigger engine was put in to make a very underpowered vehicle more drivable I used a stock Fiskel & Sachs pressure plate and clutch disc to minimize the “shock” to the drivetrain in lieu of a 1700 lb pressure plate which is probably why it slips slightly. With new transmission and shift bushings shifting can be a bit grumpy but the more it drives the better it gets.
• Minor rust as noted above and in pictures. few small rust bubbles around drip rails. at bottom of both cargo doors and by 3 seat attachment point on cargo floor. Some wrinkled sheet metal in passenger footwell/seat area from previous damage that I have no history on.
• Speedometer works but odometer doesn't

$2300 Price Reduction Option – Can replace 2007cc motor with a freshly rebuilt 1600cc dualport with doghouse fan shroud (also built by Joe Weible in Wichita. KS) and deduct $2300 from price
