Its a sad day. but it has been decided that it's time to let 'Pinky' go. and let someone else get the use out of her that she deserves

'Pinky' as she was named by my son for obvious reasons is a stunning 1973 Bay window that has been owned for the past six years by our charity and has put smiles on thousands of people's faces. she was born in Germany and was purchased by German telecom. after a few years she was sold and was converted to a soft scoop ice-cream van. and she stayed this way until six years ago when we bought her. she was then fully 'internally' restored and had a Mr Whippy machine fitted. the freezer was overhauled and a shaved ice machine was installed (the shaved ice machine is not included with the van. but is available by negotiation if wanted) and as far as we know. she is either the only 'Bay' like this. or one of a very few.

She has been maintained extremely well since we have owned her. the new engine that was fitted six months before we bought her runs perfectly and is serviced rigidly every year when she needs it. she had a new MOT in December. which she flew through. and has only done 5 miles since then. she has a new clutch last year. as well as all new brakes. and various other bits and bobs

She is great fun to drive. the 1581cc engine pulls well and does a steady 60  on the motorway no problem. being left hand drive. it amuses passengers as you drive along!!

She is fitted with a towbar. to tow the trailer that comes with her that houses a generator to supply 240V for the machines. when a mains hook up is not available. this has been custom made for us and houses the electric start generator (LPG converted). and two gas bottles perfectly. she is supplied with various leads. sockets etc. as well as two long extension leads - everything you need for any situation

Pinky comes with a '5 STAR' food hygiene rating!!. this is not easy to get. and it took a lot of effort to get it. but we felt it was worth it (we will supply all the documentation required for you to re-apply in your locality) we have done all the hard work (Paper work and easy to follow systems in place as well as two sinks. hand towel dispenser etc)

Basically what you are buying is not just the cutest VW camper on the planet. but you are getting a full business ready to roll!

We have been very successful with Pinky. and have loved the many festivals we have attended (camperjam. field of dreams etc) there is a huge earning potential with this van (we have taken over £1000 a day at most larger events)

If you are into VW's you will know just how sought after these vans are (and you will probably have seen her at events) she is a 40 year old van. so obviously has got blemishes. but she is VERY solid. when we got her she needed a new outer sill on one side and a new battery tray. which we got sorted out and re-sprayed. since then she has had only two very small patches directly behind each front wheel welded (this is a common spot as it is the first place that all the road dirt hits) there is no rust on the chassis. floor or out-riggers etc. if you want to speak to the garage that looks after her for us. who are air-cooled specialists they are happy for you to do that. she has a few minor rust issues (all cosmetic) the worst being the drivers side door which has rotted due to a faulty window scraper. and a few other bits and pieces (nothing that would cause an MOT faliure. and the test centre always comment on just how good she is - we were prefer potential buyers to come and look before you bid. WE HAVE NOTHING TO HIDE. but we would prefer you to make your own appraisal of her. rather than taking our word for it

Before we decided to sell her. we were planning on getting her re-sprayed. however we have decided to leave her as she is so that the new buyer can paint her if they want to - or leave her as she is. as everyone loves her just as she is!

Please remember when you look at our van that this is a full business on wheels. not just a camper. there is some serious money to be made by the right person. who can give the time to her
