Savannah Beige Metalic 1986 Vanagon GL Syncro 7 passenger van with Weekender back seat. locking rear differential. 2. 2L engine. fog lights and trailer hitch.   

 

This low mileage. Southern vehicle has been in our transportation fleet since February 1998 (16 years. ) It had 77. 08 miles when we bought it and has 122. 06 now making the yearly mileage average just under 3k. This vehicle has a clear title in our name and also has a clean Carfax report.   We really enjoyed this bus. it was a great company vehicle. At one point we had 5 of these 7 passenger Syncros! All but one are being phased out this year. with this one being first. The bronze '86 and grey '87 will be up for sale in the spring. We will be selling several 2WD Vanagons this year as well.

 

This bus is in very good condition for its age and has low mileage. It is a very original vehicle with the only modification being the upgraded engine. The body is straight and rust free.  In preparation for sale. we had the whole vehicle repainted the original color Savahnnah Beige Metalic - base/clear. All of the window seals were replaced as well as the mirrors. some of the trim and the decals. We replaced the tires with General grabber AT/2 LT 27x8. 5R14. The stereo has been updated with a modern unit that has CD/USB/Aux/Bluetooth capability. The speakers are also new. The entire vehicle has been thoroughly cleaned. As you can see in the photos. there are some imperfections inside. The brown dash has some cracks as most of them do. There are two knicks in the headliner material around the windows on the passenger side. The carpet shows some wear. The driver seat has a little wear from entry/exit. But for the most part. the bus still looks good for its age.

 

We have records of most of the service work performed since 2004 (previous history was not computerized) The biggest milestone in the service history is the 2. 2L engine which was built in late 2006 at 109k miles. The new engine has more power and sounds so much stronger than the original.   13k miles later. it still runs great! All of the brakes were replaced last year. Three of the 4 CV axles were replaced last summer. The main drive shaft has just been replaced. The 4WD now works as it should.   The front blower motor has just been replaced. The only feature on this vehicle that does not work is the a/c. It seems that the fans are locked up. and for that the whole unit in the back would have to come down. We decided it would be best left alone as whoever buys it might want the a/c out anyway.

 

This van would be ideal for someone who wants a Syncro. but doesn't want a project. This one can be driven and enjoyed right now. It could also be a good candidate for someone who wants a great base to start from for building a monster Syncro.

Terms & Conditions

1. NC residents

In addition to the sale price. North Carolina residents are also responsible for: NC Highway Use Tax which is 3% of the vehicle's sale price; License and title fee of $73. 00; Auto Focus documentation fee of $169.   NC residents must have a valid NC drivers license and must have at least liability insurance coverage on the purchased vehicle before it can leave the Auto Focus lot. Auto Focus will complete all title work for NC residents.

2. Out of state buyers

All buyers who take personal delivery. and drive their vehicle from the Auto Focus lot must have at least liability coverage insurance on the vehicle purachased as this is a requirement in NC. The title and registration process and associated costs will be the responsibility of the buyer. We provide airport pick up from GSO at no charge.

3. Deposit and final payment

A deposit of $500 is required within 24 hours of sale. Payment in full is required before a sold vehicle can be released. Vehicles can be paid for in cash. by certified funds. by personal check. once cleared. and by loan check. Auto Focus must be notified within 36 hours of sale as to how the vehicle will be paid for. An important note about the deposit: We try very hard to accurately represent our vehicles. If you are the winning bidder. or agree to purchase a vehicle and are dissatisfied with the condition of the vehicle once you arrive. we will return your deposit. If you simply change your mind. or fail to even come look at the vehicle you have agreed to buy. your  $500 deposit will not be refunded.

4. Shipping

Shipping cost and arrangements are the responsibility of the buyer.

5. Warranty

All vehicles sold by Auto Focus have been inspected and serviced by Foreign Accents. a Bosch Service Center in Greensboro. NC. All vehicles have a current NC inspection unless otherwise noted.

Vehicles sold by Auto Focus are sold AS-IS with no warranty unless there is factory warranty coverage remaining.

An aftermarket extended warranty plan by Easy Care is available at the buyers expense on some of our vehicles.   Please contact us for more details and to see if the car you have chosen qualifies.
