Seller's notes: "Paint isn't perfect, probably a maaco paint job a few years before I bought it. a couple rust holes under the original battery location, other than that it's solid, no soft spots. could maybe use a brake bleed but stops fine right now. new ball joints, new front brakes, new shocks on all 4 corners a few years back, good tires. this is a 40 year old car but it's in pretty good shape. i daily drove it for 3 years on golf cart batteries before I converted it to lithium."

NO RESERVE!
1973 VW Squareback converted to run on Lithium batteries. This is a great car with an awesome interior that was finished just before I purchased it several years ago. I still have the back seat in case you want to move the rear batteries and put it back in there and put 4 people in it. I did the whole conversion so it would be reversible. the whole factory fuel injection computer and harness are still in there as well.

newer brakes up front. rears might could use some love. new ball joints. new shocks. new CV boot on drivers side. new speedometer cable. a ton of new stuff. this was my daily driver before I made it this project. then it was my daily driver with lead-acid batteries before I decided to go with the lithium pack. it's a great car. it just needs someone to do the finishing touches. it should have a range near 100 miles/charge. 20 batteries in back seat area. 10 up front where gas tank used to be.

I spent over $7500 on batteries. charger. and management system. the initial outlay for the motor. controller. mounting plate. and other misc conversion parts was well over $3. 00. the car without the parts is worth at least $2. 00 so I think this is a fair price to start with.

Major Electric conversion parts:
ImPulse 9 Motor
Logisystems 120v 550a controller
30 160ah BestGo cells. brand new. less than 100 miles on them- NO WARRANTY
TC Charger w/CanBus communication. brand new
partially functional Ligoo BMS system
Air-Cooled VW plate and flywheel mount for WarP/ImPulse motors.

On Feb-01-14 at 09:06:11 PST. seller added the following information:

the estimated range is based on an assumed 300watt/hr per mile (fairly conservative). and assuming the batteries have the capacity that they're rated to. these batteries are NOT under any warranty and the manufacturer is out of business. i assume because of their inability to make great batteries. on the other hand. I'll be including several extra batteries for spares. and lithium batteries are very stable and pretty hard to mess up. as I mentioned in a question asked by an ebay member. these may (and should) last 10 years but could also last 10 days or 10 months. there is no way to know.
