MULTI CONCOURS WINNING 1982 AUSTIN MORRIS MINI HL ESTATE EMBERGLOW RED PERFECT

Well it's time to say a sad goodbye to our fantastically rare concours 998cc Mini HL Estate.   Beautifully restored. acid dipped and E-Coated to ensure rust prevention. stainless steel nut and bolts used throughout and rebuilt from bare metal.   NOT ONE SPECK OF RUST ON THIS MINI and prepared to ensure it doesn't appear in the future.   YOU WILL NOT FIND ANOTHER GENUINE HL ESTATE WHICH HAS BEEN PREPARED TO THIS STANDARD.  

We spent in excess of  £11. 00 in parts and body rebuild alone; it would have cost double if my husband Wayne wasn't a mechanic and able to strip down and reassemble the car himself.   The bodywork was prepared by our long standing friends Derek's Minis and we oversaw the whole rebuild on a regular basis.   The rolling shell was delivered back to us in gleaming Emberglow red paint (it was originally Champagne beige) and then Wayne rebuilt the car back together using new components and restored as many original parts as possible. I had a lot of fun sourcing all the parts we needed via eBay and at many many shows. raking through the autojumble.

Please take a look at the pictures to get an idea of the superb standard which has won Wayne many trophies. the latest being Premier Class at the British Mini Club show in October 2013 last year.   He has won best paint. best engine and best in show on many occasions.   However. we have made the decision to retire this car from shows as we have nearly finished the restoration of my 2000 Mini Cooper and cannot keep 2 show cars.

I have a large file of receipts and photos showing what was replaced (I have listed the main parts below but there are many more)  In fact I am shocked at how much we spent and the amount of parts that we purchased! however at the time we wanted the car to be as perfect as possible and felt it was worth doing.

The original seats were recovered in the same plaid fabric with tan vinyl trim as the originals - sourced from Somerford Minis.  It has a brown deluxe carpet set. front and rear sourced from Somerford MinisAn original Rokee walnut dash and original BL walnut gear knob. YOU WILL NOT HAVE TO SPEND ANY MONEY ON THIS CAR IT IS READY TO USE AND WAS BUILT TO LAST FOR MANY MORE YEARS.   This car is suitable for many uses. having such a huge load area in the back with easy access via the double doors.

I have owned it since 2007. and did intend to just use it but it became apparent it needed work and then ended up as a concours restoration so it became a pampered Mini instead.   It has a current MOT which doesn't expire until the end of June and although it was declared SORN for the winter we can get 6 months tax for it (provided free if a good price is reached otherwise at new owner's expense).
