1968 VW with a Humbug kit. Factory built as the model car for sale
Current customer rating: (623 votes ) based onNow here is a car that really draws attention. Just driving along I get thumbs up and plenty of smiles. This car is great fun!
Very few of these original "HUMBUG" made it to the public before the GM lawsuits. It was just to close to their Mummer.
IRS added. as well as front disk brakes.
Full roll bar. with padding.
Swing-away spare tire. All tires Mickey Thompsons.
Quick. fun car. mechanically very sound!
Speedo. fuel. oil temp. oil pressure. volts. stereo. 12V plug in dash. clock. all mounted in a tread plate dash.
dual Weber carbs. each a two barrel. Oh man. power! And solid state ignition!
Great running H1 look-a-like. Paint - fair. top- good. IRS. disk brakes. Strong motor. FUN CAR! original look prior to "factory changes".
I was told only 200 were built before GM stepped in with complaint of "Looks to close to the Hummer".
I think the mileage is close since the "kit build". I do drive it every day when weather permits.
If you need truck transport. I do have contact numbers with an outfit I have used. and I trust them.
I do not have information on all the engine work. A friend of mine builds racing engines and liked this one.
The car has hidden ignition and push button start.
