1966 Ford Galaxie 500 2 Door Fastback Coupe 352ci 5.8L V8

I purchased this vehicle from an importer in 2020. Unfortunately, new baby and house move now forces sale.

I believe it was a one owner black plate (I have the plates) survivor car from California.

As far as I am aware the only gauge not working is the fuel gauge, but they're never accurate anyway. Otherwise, I think everything else works. All original dials, switches, and buttons. Interior is clean with usual age-related wear and tear. Runs, drives, and stops nicely. You could keep it as a survivor example and just drive it, or fully restore it, or turn it and its big block FE engine into a full-on muscle car.

It is UK registered.

I have replaced the following to get it up and running nicely:

1)      New Holley -Mr Gasket- Mechanical 110 Fuel Pump

2)      New OEM style starter motor

3)      New OEM style alternator

4)      New OEM style distributor

5)      New Holley -Street Demon 1900- 625 CFM 4 Barrel Carburettor (with auto choke)

6)      New Holley 14in x 3in chrome air cleaner

7)      New Holley -Mr Gasket- chrome oil breather caps x2

8)      New engine mounts

9)      New front bushes (upper and lower arm)

10)  New front shocks

11)  New brake pads adjusted properly

12)  New rear handbrake (foot operated) cable

13)  New transmission seals (tail shaft seal & main seal)

14)  New control arm bushes

15)  New front anti-roll bar links

16)  New bottom ball joints

17)  New fuel filler neck and new OEM gas cap

18)  New windscreen washer bag, pump (not yet fitted), and pipe work

19)  Fixed front indicator

20)  Fixed rear number plate light

21)  New OEM battery tray and battery cables

22)  New Optima battery

23)  New sun visor rubber tips

24)  NOS OEM trans column shift selector dial

25)  OEM style colour matching front (door) arm rests

Additional items sourced and/or not yet fitted:

1)      Sourced and fitted original horn ring and new horn ring retainer

2)      Sourced NOS blank spare key set (ignition & trunk) and had professionally cut

3)      Sourced 1966 Ford & Mercury Shop Manual

4)      Sourced 1965 - 1972 Ford Full Size Parts Catalogue CD (2 disc)

5)      Sourced 1966 Ford Owner's Manual

6)      Sourced new trunk seal weather-strip (not fitted)

7)      Sourced Grant 15? 3-spoke steering wheel with fitments and blue oval Ford horn button (not fitted).

It is solid underneath. There is typical rust on the rear wheel arches, but new and old panels can be sourced from the States. I have had a fabricator look at it, and their view was that it was easily repairable. It has all the bright work, except one wheel arch trim which can be sourced from the States as old-restored.

I have kept the original air filter and front oil breather cap, clips, and fasteners, but the pipe work wasn't worth keeping. I have also kept the original Holley carb that came with the car, so if you want to refurbish it and refit it you can.

It is MOT exempt / Tax exempt and qualifies for classic car insurance.
