1968 Buick LeSabre for sale
Current customer rating: (72 votes ) based onVery rare car, owned this for a good few years now, its had tons of money thrown at it, but always been in dry storage, not on the road. Restored around a year ago, then tucked away, and left gathering dust.
Fired straight up today with a charge to the battery, and fresh petrol.
Its a rock solid car, don't think its ever had any welding, straight and honest shell.
UK V5c logbook in my name, I was the first owner on the V5 since it was registered over here. Extensive history folder, full of documents and invoices from both here and over in the States, dating right back.
The underside was stripped back to bare metal, primed, and sprayed with a seam sealer/ stone chip to give a 'factory' and well protected finished.
The body has been stripped, bare metaled, epoxy primed, high build primed, and then finished in its original Arctic White. (A stunning slightly off-white colour).
The engine bay and boot area have been sprayed to a satin black finish, as it would have come from factory.
The V8 engine, starts, runs and idles just as it should, very reliable, its spot on really, but may benefit from a service before road use?- as has been in storage some years. New Holley carb was fitted.
All body rubbers have been replaced for new (couple may still need fitting, but included.)
Brand new front and rear screens fitted at time of bodyworks.
Interior has had some money thrown at it, new carpets fitted, both bench seats have been re-upholstered in a brown swade type material that really complements the body colour. Also supplied is a new headlining, ready to be fitted. The dash pad is cracked, from too many hot US summers, but a spare, good dash pad also included. The steering wheel is also cracked in places, perfectly usable, but again, a mint steering wheel is also included. Door cards look dusty, but will clean up well. To be fair the main work left is just finishing the interior and trim off.
Brakes have had plenty of work done to them, they are very sharp, and just as you would expect in a modern car to be fair. Again, its a very easy car to drive with power steering.
Chrome is in great shape; will polish up a treat, few little blemishes and dinks, but all original at the end of the day, and as you would expect.
Both tax and MOT exempt.
Period wheels set the car off nicely, again, would benefit from a clean and polish. Tyres were brand new a few years back, and the car hasn't seen a road since fitting.
The Buick currently retains its original Washington State licence plates, with its US reg obviously. Very cool to find these with the car still. I have also had a brand new set of US 'replica' plates made up, which suite the car, and include its UK reg and have been designed purposely for this car, with its year and state pressed into them.
I have masses of spares and parts for the car. A set of steel wheels and tyres, a tow bar-not fitted, lots of interior parts, trim and extras, a few new boxes with engine and body parts, chrome wheel arch trims, spare rubbers, basically a trunk full of goodies. (By the way, the missing trunk lock and badge are inside the car too).
A great deal of time and money have gone into this car, but its time someone finished the car off and got some use and enjoyment from it.
Please don't expect a concourse yank that you can drive home in, its been in storage for a long time, the bodywork has been done real nice, but different people have different standards. You are buying a classic that needs light finishing off, GENUINE interested parties only please, no timewasters.
