All Original. Barn Find. Survivor. a Drivable Dream that's. Only Original Once. Milage of 57. XX appears by all accounts to be original. as it spent most of its 63 years. 35 years in a barn. with a non-op. on an Almond farm in Fresno. One family drove it in Palo Alto and Fresno. All original cars are now becoming the most sought after. some of which bring more than restored. I have owned quite a few collectibles. exotics. and classics. and can attest to the special nature and public admiration of original cars with patina over restored. Kelly Blue Book or Gold Book-NADA values the 1948 Packard Station Sedan as follows; Low retail $27. 00 Average $48. 00 and High Retail $106. 00 I have personally witnessed this model with lesser condition wood yet fully restored bringing well over $100. 00 recently. I have had 14 woody wagons with all levels of finish. and I can attest to this being the best all original wood I have had or seen at countless woody shows. Although it would take very little; As factory correct upholstery. paint and chrome is all that would be needed to make this a "show-winner" Because the foundation is rust free and in perfect running condition. However This wonderful woody is best enjoyed in its as found state. with just the right amount of patina to be appreciated and admired as is. Due to its lengthy storage the following original from the facory items were replaced in order to provide trouble free driving; Original Radiator-replaced. Original fan belt-replaced. Original water pump-replaced original Generator-replaced. Original starter-replaced Original voltage regulator-replaced. Original points replaced with pertronics electronic ignition. Original Fuel Pump-replaced. Original Carburater-rebuilt. Original Brakes-replaced. Original brake lines-replaced. Original Master Cylinder-replaced Original wheel cylinders-replaced. original wheel bearings replaced. New White Wall Tires. original gas lines replaced and renewed gas tank. Original braided wiring harness under hood and where needed replaced with same original type wiring. Yes it would be nice that every component were still original yet we opted for trouble free reliability over complete originality so you now have the best of both worlds. It is quiet and as smooth as my wifes Jaguar a joy to drive long distance. Unlike my flathead Fords that are best suited for 55 MPH this upscale. car was designed for 65 to 70 MPH and will still do that all day long! I have seen lesser Packards needing mechanicals and restoring or a full wood kit bring low $30'sTherefore We believe $36. 00 is well below NADA average book value of $48. 00 yet far nicer than average yet this one offers all around good value @ $36. 00 a fair price
