UP FOR AUCTION IS PROBABLY ONE OF THE NICEST FULLY RESTORED TRIUMPH TR6's IN THE COUNTRY. THIS IS A 1975 TRIUMPH TR6 WITH OVERDRIVE. THIS IS ALSO THE MOST DESIRABLE COLOR WITH VERY LIMITED PRODUCTION IN THIS COLOR OF FRENCH BLUE OVER BLACK. THIS TR6 SHOWS ABOUT 60. 00 MILES WHICH I BELIEVE TO BE ABOUT CORRECT. THIS CAR HAS GONE THROUGH TWO RESTORATIONS SINCE ABOUT 1994. FIRST RESTORATION WAS A COMPLETE FRAME OFF. NUT AND BOLT RESTORATION. THIS INCLUDED THE COMPLETE DRIVE TRAIN (ENGINE. TRANSMISSION. AND DIFFERENTIAL). COMPLETE SUSPENSION FRONT AND BACK. BRAKES. ROTORS. LINES. CARBS. CONVERTIBLE TOP. STEERING RACK. INTERIOR. SEATS. CARPET. COMPLETE DASH PADS. PANELS. MICHELIN X REDLINES ON RESTORED OEM STEEL WHEELS. RE-CHROMED BUMPERS. ETC. . LIST GOES ON AND ON. ALL EXTERIOR PANELS WERE STRIPPED TO THE BARE METAL. AND CUT IN OFF OF THE CAR. THIS INCLUDED THE DOORS. REAR QUARTERS. FRONT FENDERS. TRUNK LID AND HOOD. EACH PANEL WAS THEN REFITTED TO THE CAR WITH THIN GASKET MATERIALS BETWEEN EVERY PANEL THAT TOUCHED ANOTHER PANEL. THIS FITTING PROCESS WAS EXTENSIVE BUT INSURES THE FACT THAT THIS CAR WILL NEVER SHOW RUST BETWEEN PANELS AS THESE CARS ALWAYS DO IN TIME. THIS CAR WAS PAINTED 19 YEARS AGO AND LOOKS LIKE IS WAS PAINTED YESTERDAY. ALMOST FLAWLESS TWO STAGE PAINT. TO THIS DAY THIS CAR ONLY SHOWS TWO SMALL CHIPS THAT YOU PROBABLY WILL NOT FIND IF I DO NOT POINT THEM OUT. THE ENGINE WAS COMPLETELY REBUILT WITH MINOR MODIFICATIONS TO INCREASE COMPRESSION AND INCLUDED THE INSTALL OF THE TRIUMPH TR250 CAM. STANDARD PISTONS. STAINLESS STEEL SPORT EXHAUST WAS ALSO ADDED. CAR RUNS AND SOUNDS GREAT WITH JUST THAT LITTLE EXTRA HORSE POWER. AFTER THE FIRST RESTORATION THE CAR WAS DRIVEN LESS THAN 11. 00 MILES IN ALMOST 19 YEARS. CAR WAS PRETTY MUCH A TRAILER QUEEN. SINCE THE CAR HAD BASICALLY 500 MILES DRIVEN IN THE LAST COUPLE OF YEARS. I HAD DECIDED TO PERFORM A COSMETIC RESTORATION WHICH INCLUDED AN EXTENSIVE DETAILING OF THE ENGINE BAY. LUCAS PL700 HEADLAMPS. COMPLETE NEW LUCAS TAIL LIGHT LENSES AND GASKETS OVER RE-CHROMED LIGHT HOUSINGS. NEW LUCAS FRONT MARKER LENSES. NEW GREEN HOSES. BELTS. RED FAN. NEW RADIATOR. REBUILT BRAKE BOOSTER (painted base black/clear coat). NEW LUCAS WASHER BOTTLE AND MOTOR. NEW OVERFLOW BOTTLE AND HOSE. NEW FAN SHROUD. REBUILT CARBS. RESTORED FRONT GRILL WITH NEW OEM TR6 GRILL BADGE. NEW VINYL ROBBINS CONVERTIBLE TOP WITH REFLECTOR STRIP AND ZIP OUT REAR WINDOW OVER RESTORED FRAME. NEW OEM FULL TONEAU COVER. NEW COCO BLUE FLOOR MATS. I REMOVED THE LUGGAGE RACK AND RESTORED IT WITH NEW POT METAL FEET AND GASKETS. RECENTLY CHANGED EVERY LIGHT BULB IN THE CAR WITH OEM LUCAS BULBS. RECENTLY INSTALLED MAPP BURL VENEER DASH WITH RESTORED GAUGES THAT I SENT TO EUROPE FOR RESTORATION WORK. THESE DASH GAUGES WERE RESTORED USING A BRIGHTER BACKGROUND PAINT WHICH MAKES THEM BRIGHTER AT NIGHT (this has always been an issues with tr6 gauges. no being bright enough). THIS CAR WILL NOT BE A DISAPPOINTMENT TO ANYONE. EACH TIME THIS CAR WAS RESTORED THE EMPHASIS WAS TO RESTORE IT TO A CONDITION BETTER THAN THE DAY IT ROLLED OFF OF THE ASSEMBLY LINE. THIS CAR IS 99. 9% CORRECT. I HAVE OWNED AND RESTORED ABOUT 15 OF THESE TR6's AND BELIEVE THIS CAR TO BE ONE OF THE BEST. THIS IS NOT A CHEAP CAR. THIS CAR IS READY FOR ANY REGIONAL CAR SHOW OR CONCOURS THAT YOU MAY WISH TO TAKE IT TO. JUST BACK FROM THE BRITISH INVASION CAR SHOW AT STOWE VERMONT WHERE THE CAR FINISHED 1ST IN CLASS AMOUNT 34 OTHER TR6's.  ALSO FINISHED 1ST IN CLASS AT THE ATA BRITISH CAR SHOW. SARATOGA AUTO MUSEUM. I wanted to add a few things to the description that was not included or not shown in the pictures. 1) I have since restored the brake booster. This unit functioned properly but needed to be cleaned up a little. I removed it and sent it to the body shop where it was properly sanded and re-painted black base/clear coat. The picture shown is before it was restored. I can send the restored picture upon request. Most people would have been satisfied with the way it looks in the photo shown. 2) I have just installed a new Smith Service Interval Counter (OEM out of the box) and two new drive cables. Again. the service interval counter in the engine compartment picture looks almost mint but I had a new unit and now looks even better. These are the little things that separate a nice car from a almost perfect car.  3) The glove box is original and is not in great shape (black duct tape over a small section inside) again not a big deal but something that needs to be replaced in the future (I am willing to provide a new glove box unit). That is about it for now. have a great auction.
