This is a car you will be proud to own !  Made in 1939. last year of the Twelve; Model 1708.
The owner. experience restorer. worked five years for a meticulous restoration. everything himself. except painting and chrome painting.
It starts and runs fine; the car took first place at the annual Packard meet in Salado. Texas.
The combination of a heavy car (6. 00 lbs) and large tires (8. 25x16) made it difficult for the owner to steer.   Therefore power steering (made by Ford) was added.
Old age prevents the owner to enjoy the car. and decision was made to sell it.
The wood frame was completely rebuilt in wallnat. water and insect repellents were used.
The engine was rebuilt and tested for 100 hours on a special test rig before it was installed in the car.
This car is special. even for a Packard.   First time column shift and V windshield were used.
The thermostat actuates louvers in front of the radiator; the clutch and brake pedals are vacuum assisted.
There are three spare tires; two side-mounted and one in the trunk.
Anti-sway bars front and rear; hydraulic shock absorbers at all wheels.
The body has two jump seats. privacy drapes at the rear windows.
Push-button radio is available but not installed.
Front seat is green top-grain leather. rear seats are fine green cloth. the header is microfiber suede.   All mounted on individually bagged coil springs (no foam used)
The carpet is lamb skin; the mascot is French-made Lady Lalique chrystal. lighted.
Tripe driving lights and two back-up lights.
The seller (Mike) can be reached at 281-437-0437 or at mikeandcaroline@comcast. net for details and additional pictures.   The buyer is invited to see and drive the car.
