1962 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia

I love this car! People love this car!  Everywhere I take it I make new friends and am constantly asked for rides.
I know it looks rough. but that is because I have decided to with the patina look on this one.  but dont let the good looks fool you. I have over $5. 00 invested in making this car daily driver reliable.  every piece of rubber has been replaced.  All the brake lines. fuel lines. the master cylinder. the slave cylinder. all the brake cylinders. shoes. springs. even the transmission bushing was replaced.  It shifts and stops like it is brand new.

The term barn find gets thrown around a lot latetly. but this one truly was a barn find.  The engine failed and the owner just parked it.  Then the rats moved in and made quite the mess.   Not to worry. I have fixed all of that.
The wiring harness has been completely gone through and repaired.  I also removed all of the rotten interior and convertible top.  Two brand new front seats have been installed and feel much more comfortable than the original horsehair. (not to mention the looks!)  unfortunately while the upholstery guys were installing the seats they accidentally poked a small hole in the driver's seat.  They applied a patch to the bottom but if you look closely you can still see the spot.
The most important part:  the engine has been completely rebuilt.  Im talking torn all the way down and then back up.  It is one of the best starting little VW's I have ever had.  It starts the second piston over and idles beautifully.  It is an AE engine with a 6v flywheel and single port heads.  It is a torque monster!  It has NOT been converted to 12v the bellhousing has not been clearanced.  It still has a newly rebuilt 6v starter.  
The car has been lowered about 2. 5-3 inches.  New lowered shocks have been installed to make sure it still has some give to the ride.
The tires are brand new Continentals.  145/65 15 in the front and 165/70 15s in the rear.
Right now I have the car set up as a Speedster with no top.  I do have the top. but the wooden boughs have been damaged.  I will include all the hardware and remaining parts with the purchase of the car.  I believe it will need at least two new boughs. the front and the rear.
I have all four chrome hubcaps. I just left two off to show what it looks like without them as I know some folks like the more plane look.
I will include the original 36hp block and all the parts I have left of the top.
The gas tank was dipped and is rust free and the windows roll up and down easily.
I do not have the title but I am the legal owner and have paperwork that will allow you to register and title the Karmann Ghia in your name.

Any vehicle left on the property will accrue storage fees of $20 per day after two weeks of no contact.   This will not apply if we have reached a different agreement.
