This beautiful '65 Type 1 was restored with old/new '65 parts right down to the tin screw by Fred Powell of Volkswagen Rescue Society. The rebuild / restore happened in 2005. 6. 00 miles on the rebuilt engine. The car has been garaged during winter and fall months and provided fun driving during the warm months. Small amount of surface rust on interior floor. Virtually spot free rust-wise on the pans and underside. Sunroof rolls open and closes with a beautiful full seal. Push out rear windows make the cool options in '65 complete. The car was not converted to 12 volt electrical when it was restored. Still six-volt. Mr. Powell serviced this car at the Atlanta VW dealer when it was sold new! The original buyer's grand daughter inherited the car and sold it to Mr. Powell for restoration. You will not see a more beautiful or drivable '65 in the mid-west. Maybe the U. S. ! My wife and I want to buy a bigger boat so it's time for another person / family to love this Bug.
