RARE!    RARE!    RARE!

 

This is a 1960 Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and is EXTRAORDINARILY RARE because it is a Swiss AMAG Factory Produced Car!   The records indicate that in 1960 only 150 of these cars were produced at the AMAG assembly plant.   Out of those 150 cars the records reflect only 3 were imported to the United States!  You will note the “Montage Swisse”  nose badge which is not found on the Ghias built in Germany.

The condition of the vehicle is restored condition with no known or visible rust (0 Rust!)  The photographs will speak further on its condition.

The conversion from 6 volt to 12 volt has been instituted when the new engine was installed.   This power plant to the best of my knowledge is 2150 cc complete with dual carbs.   This engine was present when I purchased the car from previous owner and produces a great deal of power output and runs flawlessly.   The car has just over 4. 00 miles present on the working odometer.   All gauges/ clock are restored and in good working order.   Obviously the millage reflects the miles since restoration was completed.

The interior is a high quality restoration done by an individual who restores concourse Ferrari and the like.   The fit and finish of carpet and upholstery is very tight and the seats are done in tan and cream to very nice effect.   I have installed brand new whit wall correct tires as the vehicle birth certificate verifies the car was equipped with when new.   The paint is very. very nice although some minor imperfections can be found on close inspection.

The undercarriage/chassis is rust free and protected with a special protective coating to guard against the elements.   The car is equipped with a new set of wonderful bilstein shocks which make for a superb ride.

Although it is beautiful in every aspect … Make no mistake this is a real driver's car.   The steering is tight and accurate. all functions such as radio turn. signals. lights. windows. etc. are in good working order. Put a piece of Volkswagen history in your garage when you purchase this Karmann Ghia.
