OK. so here I have my '59 Split Screen Panel Van. This van is a real Head Turner. I have to sell him as we are buying a new house and we will no longer have the space that we enjoy at our present house. It is with a heavy heart that I now offer "YOBO" for sale. "YOBO" is a true Hooligan of the road and track. He "pulls like a train" and "handles like a go cart". I imported him from the USA about 7 years ago and when I first saw him at Southampton docks I wanted to push him over the side into the sea! I had been lied to by the seller. He had fooled me good and proper. However I got him home and left him outside my house for a couple of weeks whilst I decided what to do with him. I decided in the end to go for a full ground up rebuild. This is what I did: I stripped out all of the tatty interior and treated a couple of rust issues before repainting in "Dove Blue". I took the tubs out of the arches to get the cab height right and fitted a new. old stock bench seat which was trimmed in grey leather. A new. old stock parcel shelf was installed along with pressed aluminium door cards and kick panel. New gauges and Monster Tacho with shift light was fitted along with a new "Enzo Nardi" wood rimmed steering wheel. New lap belts were fitted throughout. In the rear a new full width R&R bed was installed and trimmed in the same grey. The van was insulated and then the new side panels were fitted along with new head lining. Black and white chequed floor tiles were fitted on top of water resistant ply wood board. Spot lights were installed in the head lining. No sound system was installed as I love listening to the engine "Sound track"! Underneath the chasis has been professionally strengthened and cross braced to eliminate any body flex whilst fast cornering. The suspension is adjustable gas shocks by 'Gaz'. Brakes front and rear are Porsche 933. drilled and vented with "yellow stuff" fast road pads. Steering is Polybushed throughout and it really handles superbly! And it stops on a six pence. The engine is a 2. 2 litre eco tec. 16 valve. twin cam and really pulls like a train to 3000 and then takes off like a jet! It has only done around 4000 miles on a brand new engine straight out of a crate. It has been properly "run in" and NOT over revved when cold. It is mated to a Porsche G50 gear box and is a perfect match. There is a Defi ecu from a power boat running things in this department and has just been remapped. It is pushing out approx. 170 BHP. These engines are unbelievably tunable and if I had plans to keep him I had plans for 400BHP + by the end of this year. However its not meant to be. It is obviously water cooled and to that effect I had two bespoke radiators designed and built along with 2 bespoke aluminium air ducts to channel the air directly to the rads. These are installed beneath each sill and are piped up with stainless steel. braided hoses. and two new Kenlowe fans. It runs super cool and never over heats. I could go on and on about this immaculate bus but I think you have probably got the picture by now! I want £25K (GBP) and NO OFFERS will be considered. This fantastic van stands me in at around £33K and someone. somewhere is going to get themselves a bargain! Please feel free to phone or e-mail me with any questions and I will be happy to answer them. Forgot to say that the wheels and tyres are insane! Continental (all brand new) on Kinesis Motosport Rims. This van really is the Mutz Nutz! Thanks for looking!
