FBF 291Y. Volkswagen Beetle 1303S Karmann Beetle convertible.

I bought her in 2003 (over 10 years ago) from a lady in West London who had owned her since 1989 (14 years). Pre 1989 there were 2 London based keepers. the first of which imported her via VAG (UK) of Milton Keynes from Italy ie warmer climbs. I inherited a large folder of receipts and photos showing at least 2 major refurbishment projects.

In my ownership she has always been garaged and never driven in the rain - in fact I have probably only covered about 2. 00 miles in her in the past 10 years.

In 2008 she was given to a family friend who spent about a year in his workshop stripping her down. panel by panel. screw by screw. A meticulous rebuild. He sprayed the car in Mars Red. an original Beetle paint colour and we fitted a brand new Bernard Newbury interior which included driver. passenger and rear bench seats. carpets. door cards and inserts etc (http://www. bernardnewbury. co. uk/).

Following the rebuild Newton Motorsport fitted a new 1600cc engine. electrics. clutch. brakes. etc.

I estimate the cost for this was well over £10. 00.

This is my favourite ever car. Problem is I never drive it! I have probably covered 250 miles since the work.

I wont sell it for silly money but would like to see someone take it who can use it and give her a good home. I would be pleased to stay in touch and buy it back in years time when I have time to drive it.

She is in the process of being MOT'd and will be sold with the fresh MOT and 12 months tax (tax discs are free being a historic vehicle).

Located near to Manchester.

This is a 40 year old used car so please do not expect a concours example! This is however a very decent example of a real classic!
