Thanks for looking at my 1967 MGB mk1. This is an early type Mk1 MGB GT. Built in February making it one of the last early type mk1's. It has the narrow tunnel 3 syncro gearbox with working o/d. Paintwork is grampian grey with black leather & red carpets. It comes with a Heritage certificate indicating it was delivered to “Brittains of Brighton” (was part of the Caffyns group) in March 1967.

MoT until July 2013 (no advisories) and taxed until June 2013. The mileage/odometer is currently showing 127k miles but a new goldseal engine was fitted at 116k miles and the gearbox refurbed at 116k miles too (receipts for engine and box in the large history file). Therefore engine. gearbox. clutch etc have only done about 10000 miles. Oil pressure is 65psi cold start. 50psi hot idle. cruising at 60psi.

The car was subjected to a thorough restoration in 1990 with many new panels including new fr/rr wings. sills. new doors. full respray. new wire wheels. new leather seat covers. It has its original alloy bonnet & a stainless exhaust fitted. Its in a very presentable condition - its gets lots of looks on my journey to work and keeps up with modern traffic fine - coolant temp and oil pressures perfect. The paintwork is overall good but has some minor parking dints and scratches and a couple of minor cosmetic rust blebs. The sills are very good. the floorplans are good - they have had a couple of patches done a while back but all solid.

New twin carbs were fitted in 2003
Recent new parts- Dual oil pressure/water temp gauge .
•tyres x4 with the wires refurbed (£160 tyres)
•new radiator/rad cap/coolant hoses (£140)
•fuse box. (also a conversion to 12V neg earth plus exide 12V battery & battery cut off switch)
•new ¾” uprated front ARB and droplinks(£60)
•new front road springs
•new track rods ends & steering rack gaiters.
•regreased wiper rack + one new spindle box
•new clutch slave cylinder. braided flexi hose & copper pipe
•new 15” Motorlita wood wheel & repro MG horn push. (£130)
•new passenger sidelight unit.
•one new sealed beam headlamp
•new waterpump/thermostat & housing
•fan belt
•heater tap
•HT leads
•New front & rear rear Gaz telescopic damper conversion (fitted Nov2012) (£300)
•new brake calipers. discs. pads. hoses. dust shields (fitted Nov 2012). (£120)
•17/10/12 – fresh oil and new oil filter* new 25D distributor with electronic ignition. and gold sport coil* new oil cooler*new air filters and spark plugs

Negatives - couple of minor cosmetic rust blebs. carpet is ok but could be better and headlining could be better

I have used the MG regularly over the summer months and is very reliable. doing on average 75 miles per week on a commute to work. It got a large service history file going back to 1979 and has receipts for approx £900 in parts in the last 12 months. The car will come with some spares including some new parts that i haven't had time to fit.

Its a very solid and honest car. not perfect by any means (concours car go for £9k. condition ones cars £6k+. so this car is priced accordingly). very reliable and with scope for further improvement. The MG is only up for sale as i now need a classic with a bigger back seat for 2 toddlers. I've found a suitable replacement but obviously the MG has to go first. Thanks for looking.

More than happy for viewings on the car so get in touch all you watchers.

the  goldseal engine is a 48G 739. meaning it is the correct high compression 18GB  unit fitted to MGB's 1965-1967. Additional - the spare wheel has a new unused kumho tyre and the voltage regulator has been replaced at some point has an 80's style lucas sticker on it)If you have any questions. my number is 0789 one 4 five 6 five 3 eight

Hi,
I see you are on a replacement engine. Do you have the original one?

Thanks
