Full ground up restoration completed over the last 2 yrs. All good parts that could be re-used have been. All parts that have been replaced have been replaced with German quality parts. Thousands of dollars worth of receipts and all mechanical work has been carried out by myself. a fully qualified mechanic who served my time at Volkswagen workshop. No rust in any part of the car. lovely original Ruby Red paint job.

Front End- Adjustable front beam. replaced king and link pin bushes. wheel bearings steering coupling and front tyres.

Brakes- Replaced Master cylinder. brake metal lines. brake flexi hoses. drums. shoes and wheel cylinders front and back.

Engine- Converted to 12 volt. replaced battery. fitted alternator. Re-conditioned 1600 twin port engine. Replaced main bearings. big ends bearings. new piston and liner set. re-conditioned twin port heads. reconditioned 34 Pict carby. new J-Pipes and exhaust system. replaced engine mounts. machined flywheel and replaced main seal. oil cooler seals etc.

Transmission- Re-conditioned gearbox. replaced clutch cable. axil boots and gearbox mount.

Cosmetic- Sunroof and headliner replaced. Cost $1500. All seats re-upholstered in red with white piping. Cost $1700. New door trims. carpet kit. rubber floor mats. All window seals and scrapers have been replaced with german quality rubber seals.

All parts that where in good condition and could be re-used have been. Bumpers. hub caps. chrome moulding etc to keep the car looking original. Plus there better quality parts.

 

This type of car is extremely hard to find in any condition. This car looks and drives great and is a real head turner. Thousands off dollars spent on this vehicle as you can see from photo of receipts. Reluctant sale. but has to be done.
