1957 chevrolet gasser

Well here we have the real deal . 7 chevy 2 door post gasser. This is a true 60s gasser. t hailed from Indiana and was raced back in the day. ot a famous car. but a weekend warrior that saw track time at Pomona among other hallowed race tracks. It came to me some 8 years ago as a stripped out barely rolling shell. I did a lot of work to it but life got in the way. as often happens and I had to let it go. Skip a few years and I was in a position to take on another project. I tracked it down and bought it back. asically picking up where I left off. It has had all new steel floor. roll cage. complete speedway front end with vega box and stainless column. Rear end is stock 57 on ladder bars and adjustable shocks. The heart of the beast is a 70 350 block. bored plus 40 and stroked out to 385 cubes. It has an eagle crank. edelbrock cam. roller rockers. flat pistons and everything is balanced. Fuel is provided via a Holley carb and weiand tunnel ram. Trans is a fully rebuilt th350 with B&M high stall converter and ratchet shifter. Body is all steel. with radiused rear arches done back in the day. Paint is house of kolor blue flake with pearl red and white stripes on the roof. All the lettering is vinyl. Interior is minimal. just a pair of low back seats from the 60s. 3 point harnesses and some carpet. unctional racecar spec in there. The car was featured in custom car magazine dec 15 where there is plenty more pics and a nice writeup. We had the car up the strip this season to shake it down and it ran constant 14s with a best time of 13. 5 at just over 100mph on street tyres. It has a LOT more to give. would probably benefit from a bigger carb and possibly an LSD . though it does tend to hook up pretty well. The car is turn key. is registered and was used regularly through the summer. MOT  and tax exempt of course. Bear in mind this is a racecar that you can go to tescos in. ut a racecar nonetheless. o don't expect comfort. heater. etc etc. I am really not that fussed about letting it go but I have done what I needed with it and there are other things I want to do. o rather than it sit in the corner gathering dust I thought I would let someone else have the chance to love this car as I have. A part ex would not be out of the question but it would have to float my boat. have too many toys as it is. Any questions welcome. and viewing is essential . Car is near Doncaster.
