A unique and quite possibly unrepeatable opportunity to purchase a completely original and untouched Ford Escort MK2 1. 3 GL with just 4392 miles from new.

Finished in the factory coat of Signal Yellow. this cars appearance is nothing short of stunning! 36 years of careful storage and maintenance is testament to the cars impeccable condition. The paint finish is consistent throughout and retains the deep shine that it would have had all those years ago. The panel fit and gaps are beautifully straight and remain consistent with that of a factory fresh example. needless to say that the factory stamps are present on all panels. The car is completely corrosion free. on top. underneath and inside. Genuine. un-restored cars just don't come any better!

Internally. as you will see in the photos. the car is quite simply incredible. The seat material has not stretched. the foam has not gone soft. the material is unmarked and retains its correct chocolate colour. there is no uv fade at all. The door cards are unmarked. as is the headlining and carpet. The dashboard is superb with no distortion or cracking. The original Push Button Radio is still present and in working order.  Quite simply. it is like stepping back to 1980!

The original Ford "Sports" road wheels are still shod with the original Goodyear Grand Prix tyres. yes. the very ones that it had on when it rolled off the production line. Please note that the tyres are fine for show/display purposes. however they are showing signs of perishing. Four brand new tyres will also be supplied with the car.

Mechanically the car is superb. It drives like brand new and does not feel anything like its age. It would be more than happy being used everyday and will easily flow with modern traffic. however. we very much doubt that the new owner will use it everyday! The original service book is present and shows 5 stamps plus our local independent garage has just carried out a complete. full service and tune up on the car and renewed the brakes. It is also MOT'd until May 2017.

This truly exceptional example has had just 2 owners from new and is complete with the original operating guides and manuals. original service booklet. old tax discs etc.

In summary. cars of this calibre are very seldom found nor offered on the open market. The Signal Yellow alone. makes this a very rare car in GL trim. link this with the truly outstanding original condition and the mileage and you have a very. very rare car indeed.
