It really pains me to have to do this as I really hoped that this one would be a keeper. I guess you can't keep them all and I have a few nice cars already.

 

Let me tell you about my 1963 VW Type 3 Notchback

 

It was produced in 1963 and is a 1500S model made for the Swedish market. Although it is left hand drive. It was imported from Sweden 7 years ago but has never been UK registered.

 

I've owned the car just under a year and done very few miles in it. not really wanting to add to the cars 54000km. yes that right the notch has only covered approximately 34. 00 miles from new. The mileage is fully documented and all of the paperwork seen in the pictures come with the car. I have never registered the car in the UK as I wanted to preserve its great history. The car has all its Swedish tax discs and mot's along with its service book and original owner's book and first aid kit.

 

The car is in great condition with only a few minor blemishes on the body and a few of the window rubbers have started to perish. These can be seen in the pictures. The worst being the scratch on the driver's door. I own a bodyshop but chose not to repaint the marks on the car as I felt it would ruin the cars originality.

 

The car was fitted from new with a petrol eberspacher heater but I have never had the need to fire it up so cannot be sure it works

 

The factory tool kit and original spare wheel are both there

 

The car has had a mild engine overhaul. service items. new fuel cut off valve. tappet adjustments etc

 

The brakes where seized when I got it and these have been gone through and parts replaced as needed.

 

I have also fitted and brand new 6v battery. Ouch that wasn't cheap!!!

 

At some stage in its life the car has had the front lowered by a very small amount

 

It is a great example of a type 3 notchback. one of the best unrestored ones I have ever seen.

 

Once a deposit is taken the car will be taken for a new full UK mot

 

It has just been photographed for a forthcoming feature in Ultra VW magazine and will be coming out in it soon. Paul Knight the editor loved the car :)

I saw your add about your Volkswagen from Sweden.
I am a numberplate collector and I am looking for a very long time for a Swedish numberplate.
Maybe it sounds a bit extraordinary to you, I could understand, but when you sell the car, may I have a Swedish numberplate from you car? Is that possible?

Is this Notchback still for sale? I am desperately looking for a Notchback in good to very good shape. I live in Southern California but my sister lives in Oldham and a good friend of mine lives in Leeds. Maybe we can work something out that way if the car is still available. I would have to look into shipping fees before I could actually commit to buying though. Please let me know if it is still available. Thanks, Misha
