1984 Austin Mini City: Classic cooper styling

This classic Cooper styled mini city.
This car is for sale on behalf of the current owner. who has moved away and decided that the mini is better passed on. rather than sat unused.  We sold the mini to the current owner as his first car. and it has been thoroughly enjoyed and used by him the past few years.
The car has had an older restoration at some point in its life. and still looks as good as when we sold it. which proves that it has been well restored and looked after.  The bodywork is in excellent condition. No major rot or holes showing. no welding required whatsoever. The paint. though shiny and very presentable. is starting to show its age slightly. with the odd blemish. stone chip and light crazing (The bonnet being the worst effected) This is to be expected from the age. and the daily use. The mini is fitted with a set of period Cosmic alloy wheel arches. covering some rare 12" Innocenti steel wheels. A dummy right hand filler neck. wavy Austin grill. and contrasting roof. all finish off the retro styling. Inside. the mini is fitted with a set of HL seats. black vinyl with check/tartan centers. The interior consists of black door cards and dark grey carpets. original perforated headlining. classic oval center speedometer with the additional oil pressure and water temperature gauges. and a black leather Astrali steering wheel. The drivers seat looks to have been repaired at some point in its life. with the vinyl on the base being of a slightly different grain.
The car starts well. and drives as a mini should. The 998cc engine is fitted with a 12G202 head. which has been skimmed to keep the compression ratio. It has an alloy inlet manifold and HIF38 carb. cooper freeflow exhaust manifold. and a mild steel RC40 exhaust. Good oil pressure. no smoke or rattles. the engine pulls well. and benefits from the upgrades. 8. 4" disc brake setup on the front has been fitted to replace the drum brakes. Recent brake overhaul for the last MOT mean the mini stops well. Standard rubber suspension cones and trumpets mean the car isn't rough on the road. and doesn't ground out on speed bumps. 1. 5 degree negative front arms. and adjustable rear camber brackets mean that the mini handles very well in the corners. and feels precise and responsive.
This mini is a perfect as a starter classic. or for someone who wants a very good base to build on. Perfectly presentable and usable just as it is.
