Welcome to the auction of my 1989 Volkswagen MK1 Caddy. I bought her a few years ago from Scotland. when she was orange (as shown in photos). running a standard 1. 6 Diesel Engine with 4 Speed Box. A few months later the head gasket went. and finally gave in all together. The original plan was to replace with a 1. 6 GTD. however plans changed and ended up spending almost 2 years off the road having various working and TLC carried out.
In that time. she has had a vast amount of work. This includes being converted from a Diesel to a MK2 Golf GTI 1. 8 8v Petrol. which involved a whole heap of work and new parts to even make it happen. and Full Respray to the colour you can see now. Majority of the parts on this Caddy have been replaced for new ones. everything from Clutch. Gearbox Seals. Filters. Fuel Pump. Gaskets. Panels. Bumpers. Trims. Windows. Seals. Lights. G60 Radiator etc. It's hard to list everything over the period of time. but most components whether in the Engine Bay. Bodywork or Exterior have been replaced. For any serious buyers. I'm more than happy to discuss in detail via phone. or viewings in person.
The wheels are genuine SSR Formula Mesh 3 Piece Splits. professionally restored a couple of months ago. Polished Lips. Champagne Gold Powercoat Centres. New Bolts and New Tyres.
The Caddy is solid. but underside which has been sealed. and the bed which has been sprayed with Raptor Bedliner.
**PLEASE NOTE**
The Caddy ISN'T an immaculate spotless showroom example because it does get used most days. in all weather. It has NOT had a full nut and bolt rebuild. If this was an immaculate example. it would be up for sale at £10k+. It does have a few imperfections. and there's always work that could be done like any nearly 30 year old truck. however nothing 'needs' doing and this is a very good example indeed that causes a lot of attention. ready to enjoy right away!
The only reason I'm currently auctioning the Caddy is because I'd like to get myself another VW Camper. However. if the Reserve or Buy Now price isn't reached. I'll gladly hold onto her.
