Description We've had this Fiat Punto GT in stock for a few months now. treating it to some minor restoration work and getting it up to the standard you see it in now (for the best indication of its condition. make sure you watch the video linked above in HD!).

The work has included professional welding to the usual MK1 Punto weak areas (sills. floor. etc). having the turbocharger fully reconditioned. replacing some modifications with the correct standard components and giving it a cosmetic overhaul. The stunning "Arancia Orla" paintwork now has a brilliant shine. really bringing out the metallic flip in the lacquer and the wheels come fresh from being refurbished in the dark anthracite the "GT3" models were originally supplied with. It is now a fantastic example. I'm sure most would agree.

It's a 1998 130bhp version and it has covered just 71k miles with only four former owners from new. The MoT now runs through to July 2017. it's completely HPI clear and it comes with a service book literally full to the brim with stamps backing up the low mileage. It is also refreshingly standard for a Punto GT - this one has no holes botched into the parcel shelf for huge speakers. for example. It drives absolutely flawlessly with that box-fresh turbo delivering the surge of boost and the four Pirelli P1 tyres hanging onto the road as if the past 18 years had never happened!

This is one of just 82 GT models remaining on UK roads. and they're disappearing fast. Like their legendary predecessor. the Uno Turbo. this is the sort of frenetically fun hot-hatch that Fiat. or anyone else for that matter. just simply don't make any more. It's an absolute joy to drive and could still surprise a modern hot-hatch or two with it's 0-60mph time of 7. 6 seconds.

Going back to the Uno Turbo for a moment. just take a look at their ever-increasing values and imagine what a low-mileage. well sorted Punto GT in a rare colour and in fantastic condition like this might be worth in a few years' time!

Hi, love the car.. I`m an automatic driver mostly these days as I have a cooper S 2004 with just 26k..
I like the Punto having had a sporting for many yrs but I was wondering what the clutch is like is it a soft clutch, as I think I could get on well with a soft clutch.. Also I`ve heard that these cars have a straight through exhaust from modifiers and it makes it difficult to get through Mot`s.. Cheers Paul Bennett..
