For sale 1964 Type 34 Karmann GhiaWe all have a non Veedub mate who says that I know a guy who has a Porsche engine in a VW. Well here is your chance to really be that lucky guy.  It's not getting used very much these days and I have other interests that I want to put some time and money into so I am offering my Porsche powered Type 34 for sale.  This truly unique one of a kind Type 34 Ghia is stock bodied but underneath those beautiful razor sharp lines hides a 2. 4ltr mechanically fuel injected flat 6 Porsche engine. Engine spec is 1972 2. 4ltr T that makes about 148hp. Engine has had all the Turbo upgrades. cam chain tensioners etc. The throttle bodies were overhauled about 7 years ago. Motor starts and runs sweetly. Fitted with Crane Hi6 electronic ignition module that provides multi spark and quickly adjustable rev limiting.  Suspension has been updated to IRS rear and disc brake front. Runs a set of 15" hart Fuchs deep 6" on the front and deep 7" out back. Transmission is IRS Type 3.  Porsche collapsable space saver tyre.  The interior has been refurbished with cleaned and repaired door cards. early Scat Procar seats. Beautiful Square-weave German carpet made by West Coast Restorations and fitted by Bus N Bug. Full 5 gauge Porsche instrumentation with central large rev counter. oil and fuel tank level gauges. oil temp and pressure gauges plus a clock. All gauges are fully operational and in excellent condition. Interior is topped off with a beautiful wood rimmed Motolita steering wheel.  This Ghia has has had full registration history in Vic. WA and Tassie and the modifications are all fully engineered. Body and paint are in good condition for an older restoration. Few paint scrapes here and there and a couple of crusty spots in the lower panels. But it presents well and always draws a crowd and a few comments when I park it in a busy place.
